FCA Canada Will Return To The Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) Next Month!
Camp Jeep® Makes Its Canadian Debut...
Stellantis (FCA Canada) is scheduled to make its return to the Canadian auto show circuit for the first time in three years at the Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) 2023 in Toronto, Ontario, next month.
To help kick off its return, the Jeep® brand will be bringing its Camp Jeep indoor interactive off-road experience to Canada for the first time ever. The event allows participants the chance to experience the legendary off-road capabilities of Jeep vehicles without leaving the car show. Passengers will travel aboard the latest Jeep vehicles, facing five man-made obstacles that rigorously showcase their unparalleled capabilities.
CIAS is Canada’s largest and most-attended auto show. After being shuttered for three years by the global pandemic, the in-person event opens to the public on February 17th – 26th, 2023 at the Metro Convention Centre in Downtown Ontario.
Camp Jeep® – Toronto –
For the first time in Canada, auto show attendees can participate in the interactive Camp Jeep experience, a Trail Rated, man-made, an off-road course where professional 4×4 drivers allow riders to experience the legendary capabilities of Jeep vehicles.
The 1,858 square-meter (20,000 square-foot) exhibit will include five obstacles to provide a first-hand look at the unparalleled capability of Jeep vehicles for ground clearance, traction, stability, articulation, breakover, off-camber, and suspension travel:
- A four-meter high, 35° Jeep mountain
- A 1.5-meter high ground-clearance stair climb
- An extreme breakover obstacle
- An off-camber stability side slope
- A 30° banked articulation wedge
Camp Jeep will include a variety of Jeep brand vehicles, highlighted by the plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe (the best-selling PHEV in Canada) in 2022.
Since 2004, more than 3,000,000 guests have experienced Camp Jeep events on 5 continents, in 15 countries, and across 28 different states in the U.S.
Over 10 tractor trailers hauling a total of 72,570 kilograms (160,000 lbs.) are used to create the Camp Jeep Track along with 100 yards of mulch, 10 tons of boulders, and trees up to five meters (16 feet) tall. Over 400 man-hours will go into constructing and dismantling Camp Jeep.
Other Planned Displays –
Auto show attendees will also have a chance to see a number of FCA Canada vehicles on display. Three of its newest vehicles are being highlighted…
2023 Dodge Hornet – The quickest, fastest, and most powerful compact utility vehicle (CUV) under $40,000 (CAD), Dodge Hornet is a “gateway” for enthusiasts to enter the Dodge Brotherhood of Muscle, and will offer two powertrains including a PHEV.
2023 Wagoneer L – The premium extension of the Jeep brand, expands with the new, long Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L, which adds 30.5-centimeters (12-inches) in length to deliver best-in-class overall passenger volume and cargo volume behind the third row.
2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale – Tonale is part of a radical evolution taking place at Alfa Romeo, which looks ahead to a new era of electrification and connectivity. The first CUV from the Italian brand will offer best-in-class performance from a PHEV with over 48 kilometers (29.5 miles) of pure electric range.
FCA Canada will also have several of its other vehicles from its expansive portfolio on display. That includes the Built-In-Ontario Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid PHEV, with an all-electric range of more than 50 kilometers (30 miles), the new 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel Crew Cab 4×4 taking the Ram brand to another level of off-road performance, towing, and payload, and one of the last seven “Last Call” special edition models from Dodge to close out the current era of the Charger and Challenger.
There is still no word if the new Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept will be making its debut at this year’s event.
