With a striking green exterior, a powerful Mopar V8 engine, and a host of upgrades, this Dart Swinger is ready to turn heads and offer an exhilarating driving experience. Currently available for sale on BringATrailer.com, this remarkable vehicle is sure to attract the attention of muscle car enthusiasts and collectors alike.

The car’s original Sublime (FJ5) factory finish has been replaced with a stunning green paint job, complemented by a sleek black tail stripe. Extensive rust repairs were performed, and new quarter panels and front body panels were installed. The car now boasts an aftermarket scooped hood and bullet-style mirrors, giving it an aggressive and distinctive appearance. The dual exhaust system features bright-tipped rectangular outlets, adding a touch of flair to the rear. Although a small paint chip is noted on the cowl, overall, the exterior presents a clean and polished look.

Equipped with black-painted 15-inch steel wheels and replacement hubcaps, this Dart Swinger exudes a classic aesthetic. The front wheels are fitted with 225/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, while the rear wheels sport wider 255/60 Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S tires. The combination of the wheels and tires not only enhances the car’s appearance but also ensures optimal grip and performance. Braking is provided by four-wheel drum brakes, maintaining the authentic vintage feel.

Step inside the cabin, and you’ll find a tastefully refurbished interior. The black vinyl upholstery provides a sleek and comfortable seating surface, while the Rallye dashboard features replacement faux wood trim, adding a touch of elegance. Notably, the front bucket seats were sourced from a 1967 Dart and installed during the restoration. The headliner, seatbelts, steering wheel, trunk mat, and floor mats all received attention, resulting in a refreshed and inviting interior. Additional modern touches include a body-color pistol-grip shifter, a Bluetooth-compatible digital radio, a heater, and a convenient USB charge point.

The Dart Swinger comes equipped with a range of instruments to provide essential information to the driver. The 150-mph speedometer takes center stage, accompanied by a combination gauge displaying fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and alternator status. Although the odometer shows 39,000 miles, only around 1,300 have been added under the current ownership. Please note that the true chassis mileage remains unknown. The seller points out the presence of holes in the dashboard where racing instruments were previously attached, and wear on the steering wheel reveals exposed blue coloring, adding to the car’s history and character.

The heart of this Dart Swinger lies under the hood, where a 5.5-liter (340 cubic-inch) V8 engine resides. However, this isn’t your ordinary engine. Ed Thomas Performance Engines of Bear, Delaware, bored and stroked the original 340ci engine, increasing its displacement to an impressive 423ci. During this process, the engine received several upgrades, including a Scat crankshaft, Diamond Racing pistons, Edelbrock valve covers, a Cold-Case aluminum radiator, an MSD ignition, hydraulic roller lifters, and a fabricated camshaft. The pushrods, gas tank, and alternator were also replaced. These modifications have transformed the Dart Swinger into a true powerhouse, delivering exhilarating performance on the road.

Power from the modified V8 engine is transferred to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. This setup ensures a direct and engaging driving experience, allowing the driver to harness the car’s potential fully. The Dart Swinger is fitted with an aftermarket X-pipe exhaust, enhancing the engine’s sound and improving overall performance.
