It’s St. Patrick’s Day and Dodge//SRT is celebrating in a big way. This morning, Dodge//SRT announced that they would be expanding the color palette for the 2021 model year to add the popular color called Gold Rush to several models of its Charger high-performance lineup.
Originally called “Fortuno’s Gold” when it debuted at the 13th annual SoCal LX Springfest back in 2018 after the event’s founder, Gold Rush finally was added to the production lineup last year on the Challenger 50th Anniversary Limited Edition. For 2021, Gold Rush was announced as an exterior color option on select Challenger high-performance models like the T/A, Hellcat, and Hellcat Redeye variants.
For Charger, the high-impact color will be available on Charger R/T, Scat Pack, Scat Pack Widebody, SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye models. All models must be equipped with the Satin Black hand-painted hood, roof, and decklid. Gold Rush will continue to be included in the Challenger high-performance lineup as well.
“The customer response to the Dodge Challenger Gold Rush exceeded our expectations,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge Brand Chief Executive Officer – Stellantis. “We’re sticking to that successful Dodge formula of proliferating our most popular options across the lineup and giving Charger customers, who want the Gold Rush color, the option to have it on their four-door muscle car.”
Gold Rush is joined by a number of heritage-inspired “high-impact” colors, such as Frostbite, Hellraisin, Sinamon Stick, TorRed, Smoke Show, F8 Green, and Go ManGo, for the 2021 model year.
The Dodge Charger comes off of a record 2020 despite the pandemic, having its best-selling year for the Scat Pack ever and leading the full-size sedan segment for the 8th consecutive year. For those looking to order a Gold Rush-colored 2021 Dodge Charger, ordering availability will be opened later this spring.
