CAUGHT: 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Testing On The Highway:

Ram's Hellcat-Powered Off-Road Hits The Bumpy Michigan Pavement...

Like we said earlier this week, the upcoming Hellcat-powered 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX is easily one of the most anticipated vehicles coming down the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) product line. Now, while production may have come to a halt at the moment because of the COVID-19 (or Coronavirus) epidemic that is going on around the world, it isn’t stopping engineers testing the new Ram off-roader and now we are getting to see more of the finer details which we told you about recently.

One of our spy photographers happened to catch a couple of 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX prototypes on the highway, in Metro Detroit. This time we are seeing some new angles of the 707 horsepower off-roader that we haven’t seen before. Including this bird’s eyeshot of the new hood design. Unlike the concept and “Drive for Design” contest poster, the production model will have a bigger induction intake in the hood with heat extractors more towards the windshield – which we previewed in our recent sketch.

Also from the higher overhead angle, we get to see just how much wider the 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX truly, when compared to a late model Ram 3500 dually model that is running alongside it. It reminds us of the additional width added of our friend Charles’ Hellcat-powered 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel with the Fiberworx widebody kit, but of course, the production version will have many more details added to it.

All of the prototypes are carrying the new LED third brake light, which we believe will be available as standard equipment on all 2021 Ram 1500 models with LED lighting (which will be a much-welcomed addition). Another change is the production-spec prototypes are running Goodyear Wrangler Integrity tires, compared to the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2s that the earlier prototypes have been wearing since the earliest TRX mules were running around.

Stay tuned as we have a lot more things we will be covering this week, on the upcoming 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX.
