Amazon Alexa Is Now Available In The All-New Electric Fiat 500:

Huge Step Toward Integrating Alexa Capability Globally...

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Amazon continue to strengthen their strategic partnership by integrating Amazon’s Alexa into the all-new electrified 2021 Fiat 500 city car. Complemented by the new MyFiat skill for connected cars, occupants can ask Alexa to play music, listen to the news, check the weather, control home devices, access tens of thousands of Alexa skills, and more. The integration of Alexa is in part of the introduction of the new Uconnect™ 5 software that is making its way into several new FCA products for the 2021 model year. The availability of the service is being rolled out to customers in Italy first, before becoming available in countries like Austria, France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

With Alexa being launched in the new Fiat 500, it is a huge step forward between the collaboration between FCA and Amazon offering the technology on a global scale. FCA customers will be able to use the MyJeep, MyAlfa, or MyFiat applications in Europe to not just connect their vehicle with their home-enabled devices, but can use Alexa in the car or in the comfort of their own home, to check the battery level in their vehicle, lock/unlock doors, and lots more.

The integration of the Alexa voice experience is part of FCA’s investment in developing more services to connect services to the vehicles of today and in the future.

“The [New] Fiat 500 is the perfect solution, able to offer the cutting-edge in-cabin technologies that motorists expect, without losing its unmistakable nature as a city car.”, says Ned Curic, Vice President of Amazon Alexa Automotive. “FCA customers already love to use Alexa at home; now they can take it anywhere, making navigation easier than ever, staying connected, without giving up on moments of leisure, but always staying focused on the road ahead.”

Even though the FIAT brand has dwindled to a single-vehicle lineup in 2021 for the United States and Canada. The all-new electrified Fiat 500 is being considered to return to the North American marketplace.

The addition of Alexa in the new Fiat 500, shows that the Alexa capability goes past the connected vehicles here in the North American marketplace and that FCA can offer the technology globally to appeal to more tech-savvy customers around the globe.
