A Proper Heart Transplant – 

The biggest highlight of this build is what’s lurking beneath the hood. Gone is the truck’s original inline-six. In its place sits a 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) HEMI® “Apache” V8, the same kind of engine you’d expect to find in a modern-day Dodge Scat Pack. This motor is paired with a Mopar 545RFE five-speed automatic transmission and an Atlas dual-range transfer case. The drivetrain is capped off with Dana Ultimate 60 axles front and rear, loaded with 5.38:1 gears and electronic locking differentials. Translation? This truck is built to handle just about anything you throw at it, from crawling rocks to tearing down dirt roads.

To make sure the M715 could harness all that HEMI power, Blacksmith Garage installed a custom three-link front and four-link rear suspension system with FOX™ coilovers and Currie Antirock sway bars. The truck rolls on 20-inch XD Panzer wheels wrapped in massive 40-inch Maxxis RAZR MT tires. Four-wheel disc brakes with a Wilwood master cylinder keep stopping power in check. A Warn winch, LED lighting throughout, and fabricated bumpers add to its rugged credentials.

Modern Comforts In A Vintage Shell – 

Step inside, and it’s clear this isn’t your average military surplus hauler. The cabin is trimmed in brown leather with red stitching, courtesy of Upholstery Unlimited. Creature comforts include Vintage Air automatic climate control, power windows and locks, a Clifford alarm system, and even aviation-style sun visors. For entertainment, a Rockford Fosgate system with Bluetooth, dual subwoofers, and a four-channel amp pumps out plenty of sound. Classic Instruments gauges and a Momo steering wheel tie the retro-meets-modern vibe together.

Attention To Detail – 

The exterior is finished in gray paint with military-style vinyl graphics, accented by red highlights and custom removable roof panels. A spare wheel and tire are mounted in the bed, along with a bed mat and receiver hitch. The underside is fully coated in Raptor liner for added durability. With only 346 miles shown on the odometer since its rebuild, this M715 is essentially a brand-new truck wrapped in vintage sheet metal.
