Dodge Charger NASCAR Designs Spark Excitement

Stunning New Renderings Show How a Modern Dodge NASCAR Cup Car Could Look

The possibility of Dodge making a triumphant return to the NASCAR Cup Series has been a hot topic among racing fans for years. Now, with digital artist Justin Calvin (@j_cal_designs) releasing jaw-dropping renderings of a Dodge Charger SIXPACK stock car built to NASCAR’s Next-Gen (Gen 7) specifications, those rumors feel closer to reality than ever.

Dodge last competed in the Cup Series in 2012, securing the championship with Brad Keselowski and Team Penske. Since then, whispers of a comeback have never quite faded. With Dodge’s renewed focus on performance-driven models like the Charger SIXPACK, a return to NASCAR would be the perfect platform to showcase the brand’s racing pedigree.

Calvin’s latest digital designs imagine what a new Dodge Charger would look like under the current Penske Racing operation. The first design features three-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Joey Logano’s iconic #22 Pennzoil ride, reimagined with the aggressive and modern lines of the SIXPACK. The second design takes on the 2023 NASCAR Cup Champion Ryan Blaney’s #12 BlueDEF / Menards car, blending bold sponsor graphics with the Charger’s unmistakable muscle car styling.

These designs aren’t just fan art—they’re a glimpse into what could be a thrilling return for Dodge to America’s top stock car racing series. The combination of the Charger SIXPACK’s powerful presence and the cutting-edge Gen 7 platform could make Dodge a formidable competitor once again.

While nothing is confirmed yet, the buzz surrounding these digital concepts only fuels the hope that Dodge will soon return to the grid. And for longtime brand fans, seeing a Dodge Charger battling it out on the track is exhilarating.

Let’s just hope that if Dodge does make its way back to NASCAR, the series considers revisiting its classic 2003 format before the current playoff-style chase system. A return to those roots, paired with the comeback of an iconic American performance brand, would make for a golden era of stock car racing.

The Dodge Charger needs a shot in the arm, more like a total organ transplant, to bolster its tarnished brand standing. Did someone say NASCAR??
I can not, actually, should not, look too hard at this rendition as I might need eye glasses. I dare not let the forces of excitement and fancy run wild in my mind, it could induce a mental breakdown.
Yet, sadly, I stare, I feel my pulse quickening and I start to hope, to believe, to anticipate emotionally, because it’s too good to be true.
This post, so well executed, approaches the automotive definition of medical malpractice as the level of damage it potentially might cause to us suffering Dodge fans boarders on torture. OH THE AGONY! OH THE EUPHORIA!

@bill burke LOL!!!!!!! I hear you on this on bud! I truly hope and pray that Dodge will find their way back to greatness now that Carlos is gone. It's been a rough few years for all of us Mopar fans but I truly believe that the brand and the brotherhood will be okay. The thing is, we have to keep fighting, or as Tim Kuniskis says "never lift!" We have to keep pushing back against the forces that want to kill the automotive scene, our freedoms and our peace and happiness. We as car enthusiast have to actively be involved in this pursuit of happiness because the powers that be are trying to destroy it and we can not let that happen. We have lost too much and are constantly being forced to give up more and more. There is so much riding on this car and this brand and although I love the idea of the six pack I realize the reason the V8 is needed in this car and not even a compliance V8 but a real honest to goodness no frills pushrod V8. A Super Bee. A simple, no-fills type trim with a 383 (6.3L) V8 with about 500hp, RWD, Super Track pack and a few other things. Something that sits between the two six pack cars and offers that hint of nostalgia. This car needs to balance not only a plethora of power trains but also that bridge from what was to what is and what will be and still give us the option to choose. The entire Mopar umbrella needs to be that way.

rather see them race their own product .... IMSA or SCCA. NASCAR is the WWE of motorsports. Sports based entertainment. Honda is rumored to leave IndyCar, run the the hurricane 6 there the formula is already close to the current engine specs.

Its not so much about the fans, it that, the rule set for Nascar is very contrived, and equipment rule set is so far removed from the actual product that it lost its value as a OEM and anything other than a Marketing Platform. A expensive Marketing platform where one could just spend on Ad buys like in the NFL.

If you want to actually race, IMSA, Indycar, SCCA, USAC.... actual racing.
