Covered In Soot, The True Damage Is Unknown For This New Wagoneer...

It hasn’t been long since the all-new 2022 Jeep® Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer (WS) have arrived in dealers. The premium full-size SUVs have taken the segment by storm, already winning a handful of awards in the process. But it also hasn’t taken long for at least one of the premium SUVs to end up on Copart, the online car auction site featuring used, wholesale and repairable vehicles.

This 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series III may appear to be in decent shape at first glance, however, the claims the vehicle has been in a fire and that is when we start to notice several things. While the exterior looks free of damage, we can clearly see that it is covered in thick soot.

Upon inspection of the interior, we can also see that the interior looks free from any damage. In fact, the 10.25-inch frameless digital cluster still works perfectly and shows only 406 miles on the odometer. We can also see, that like the exterior the interior is covered with soot.

Under the hood, the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with an eTorque mild-hybrid system looks intact. The dealer even forgot to take off the blue protective film over the “Wagoneer” plate over the radiator cover during the delivery process. In Wagoneer form, the 5.7-liter HEMI puts out 392 horsepower and 404 lb.-ft. of torque mated the 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission.

The eTorque hybrid system replaces the traditional engine-mounted alternator with a belt-driven motor generator unit. The motor-generator unit works with a 48-volt battery pack to provide quick and seamless engine start/stop, torque addition to the engine crankshaft in certain driving situations, and brake energy regeneration, which improves responsiveness and efficiency. The system enables up to 130 lb.-ft. of torque to be available on initial throttle tip-in.
