2021 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Altitude. (White Rock Dodge).

Just over a month ago, we told you that the Jeep® brand was bringing back the Wrangler Sahara Altitude for the 2021 model year. The popular package adds a darkened theme to the already impressive Wrangler Sahara’s credentials and offers a more budget-friendly alternative to the premium High Altitude model. With the 2021 Jeep Wrangler being one of the first 2021 models to hit dealer lots, we aren’t surprised that the Altitude model is already starting to appear on lots all over the United States and Canada.

There are four available powertrains on the Sahara Altitude. Choices include the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with Engine Start/Stop (ESS) technology mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. If you want an automatic transmission, the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic combination is available. For those automatic buyers who want the Pentastar V6, must upgrade to the Pentastar with eTorque mild-hybrid system. Of course, there is the mighty 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 which is only available with a 8HP75 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Sahara Altitude also offers the option of the Selec-Trac® III Full-Time Four-Wheel-Drive System that includes a 2.72:1 low range. The two-speed, active full-time system includes a 4H AUTO mode that requires no driver input for any driving conditions. In 4H AUTO, 4WD is automatically engaged and disengaged as needed to maintain traction.

For 2021, there are nine available exterior colors for the Sahara Altitude. Those colors include Billet Silver, Black, Granite Crystal, Sting Gray, Firecraker Red, Bright White, Sarge Green, Snazzberry, and HellaYella!

While the Sahara-based model is only available on the four-door Unlimited configuration, it still is affordable enough to compete with more value-based SUVs. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Altitude has a starting U.S. Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) price of $36,690, excluding $1,495 in destination charges. For our Canadian friends, the Sahara Altitude has a starting MSRP of $53,085 including the base price.
