We Get A Closer Look At The Gladiator Flatbill Concept:

Jeep's New Pickup, With Motocross Attitude...

Earlier this year, the Jeep® brand pulled off covers to its lineup of concepts for it’s annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari. One of those concepts was the Jeep Gladiator Flatbill Concept. The Flatbill Concept showcases the Gladiator’s functionality, mixed with some of the themes found in the world of motocross. Thanks to the FCA Design staff, we got a good look at this amazing concept at the FCA Design Cars + Coffee event.

Featuring a large number of off-road goodies, the Flatbill looks the part of not just an off-road rig, but one that would look good both on and off-road. Gone is the tailgate which is replaced with a new extendable built-in ramp system to fit in the box, which is perfect for the pair of KTM 250 SX motocross bikes in the box of the Gladiator. KTMs also feature matching decals to go along with the Flatbill’s design theme and even include an Easter Egg or two thanks to the clever minds in the FCA Design studio.

Powered by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and the ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic, this Gladiator-based concept gets a cold-air Mopar intake. A set of Dynatrac Pro-Rock 60 is equipped with an Off-Road Evolution custom four-inch lift kit, and pair of larger rear bypass shocks are fitted underneath the rugged Jeep body.

A set of 20-inch bronze 6-spoke bead-lock wheels wearing a set of 40-inch tires give the Flatbill an aggressive stance. A custom sports bar, custom vented front fenders, shortened front bumpers, rock rails, and carbon fiber hood vents along with the bright yellow graphics carrying the “41” paying homage to the original Willy MB Jeep’s birth date.

Inside, the Flatbill’s wild yellow graphics carry over to the dash, while bronze highlights are found on all the metal surfaces and chrome surfaces throughout the interior. The cloth seats feature a design pattern similar to the exterior graphics and “Flatbill” in bright yellow text.

Overall, the Flatbill Concept is pretty impressive. Aesthetically, with its aggressive stance, wild graphics, and unique fenders, the Flatbill stands out in any crowd. We hope that the Mopar will make several of these “conceptual” parts, available for production, especially the front fenders with its vents and widebody stance.
