Last week, myself and MoparInsiders co-editor Robert Miller were in Toronto, Ontario for the 2019 Canadian International Auto Show. While Robert has covered the Detroit and Chicago shows for us earlier this year, this was the first time that I was able to make it to a show since last year.
Before I get too far into it though we do have an exciting announcement, earlier this month we ordered a 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 from our friends at White Rock Dodge. The Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 comes with the 392 (6.4-liter) HEMI V8, torque reserve, launch control, trans brake, drag radials and a ton of other drag specific features. We have covered the R/T Scat Pack 1320 in depth in this article. The car will become a long term test car for us and will also spend a lot of time at the drag strip. We plan on getting a good baseline number for the car, and then we will start modifications.
As far as the show itself, I had a blast. Besides running on 2 hours of sleep during the media day due to a flight that was delayed by about 10 hours we were able to make a lot of excellent videos and take in all the sights. This was the first time that I had seen the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty lineup as well as the 2020 Jeep Gladiator in person, and I was impressed by both products. This was also the first time that Ram showed off the new 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock.
Aforementioned Canadian debuts aside, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) had a full complement of vehicles on display across all their brands. This show is the largest in Canada and even on the media day was quite busy. There seemed to be a lot of enthusiasm around the FCA display which was also good to see. Stay tuned to MoparInsiders as we will continue to cover everything related to FCA in depth and look forward to receiving our new Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320.
