In an unprecedented move within collegiate sports, the Utah Crimson Collective, in partnership with Utah 360°, unveiled a groundbreaking initiative benefitting the University of Utah’s women’s and men’s basketball and gymnastics teams. This initiative is one of women’s collegiate sports history’s most extensive teamwide NIL agreements.

The announcement was a surprise on Wednesday, December 13, revealing a landmark agreement extending a remarkable offer to every eligible athlete: a 2024 Jeep® Grand Cherokee L Limited or a 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn Night Edition.

“As a former University of Utah gymnast, it’s incredibly meaningful for me to support our female athletes, as well as our talented young men,” said Nicole Mouskondis, co-CEO of Nicholas and Co. and board member of Crimson Collective. “When we began with the Crimson Collective, we envisioned an equitable platform that supports and connects all student-athletes and particularly our women’s teams. This initiative is not just about providing transportation, it’s about showing all our student athletes that their achievements and contributions to the community are equally celebrated, on and off the field.”

Generous donors to the Crimson Collective are covering the lease and insurance costs for the duration of eligibility for each student-athlete, ensuring recognition and appreciation for their contributions while encouraging community engagement. This follows a similar gesture during the fall: every football scholarship player was offered a Ram 1500 truck.

Mark Harlan, the Athletic Director, coaches, Collective board members, and fans joined in the unveiling of the vehicles to share this momentous news with the student-athletes.

“This historic offering is game-changing, particularly for women’s collegiate sports. Building off our success with Utes’ football, we’re setting a new standard by enhancing support and expanding opportunities in collegiate athletics, paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable environment for all athletes,” said Derek Mattsson, CEO of For The Win 360°. “The Utah 360° streaming app has been instrumental in this historic initiative, not only with new opportunities for these incredible athletes but also by introducing a new avenue for donors and sponsors to support the students.”

“I grew up watching and dreaming of becoming a Lady Ute. Women’s gymnastics has been part of my life, and today I am so proud to be part of the Crimson Collective, which has, since its inception, been dedicated to honoring the women athletes of Utah, as well as the men. I hope my enthusiasm for these programs will be contagious as I cover them on the Utah 360° streaming app,” said Missy Marlowe, former women’s gymnastics champion, former Olympian, and NCAA gymnastics champion.

Utah 360°, the free streaming app by the Utah Crimson Collective, offers exclusive content empowering student-athletes to access promotional and financial opportunities while providing a platform for sponsors and donors to support these athletes and universities.

In tandem with this landmark NIL opportunity, Utah 360° has expanded its original programming, focusing on women’s gymnastics and women’s and men’s basketball. This content, led by Utah sports legends and storytellers, including Missy Marlowe and Sean Mooney, aims to provide engaging content for enthusiasts and fans.
