Veteran Jeep® Leader Jim Morrison Steps Down From Stellantis
Departure Marks Major Shift Amidst Wave of Executive Changes...
Jim Morrison, a seasoned executive with a long tenure at Stellantis, has retired from the company. Morrison, who was the Head of Jeep® North America from June 2019 until December 2023, was most recently overseeing the newly established Jeep® Performance Parts (JPP) division. His departure was confirmed by a Stellantis spokesperson on Thursday.
Morrison’s career at the company began in 1995 when it was still Chrysler Corporation. Over nearly three decades, he held several key positions within the organization. Before leading Jeep North America, Morrison was the top executive for Ram in North America from 2016 to 2019. During his time at Jeep, Morrison navigated the brand through various market challenges, though U.S. sales saw a decline for five consecutive years under his leadership.
Jim was a prominent figure in the Jeep community.
In December 2023, Morrison was reassigned to Head the JPP division, a new unit focused on enhancing and customizing Jeep vehicles with high-performance components. This role was part of a broader restructuring within the company aimed at boosting its specialty and aftermarket segments.
William Peffer, the CEO of Maserati North America, has since replaced Morrison as the Head of Jeep North America. This transition comes amid a wave of significant executive changes at Stellantis. In recent months, several high-profile executives have left the company, including Tim Kuniskis, former CEO of Dodge and Ram, and Jason Stoicevich, former President of Stellantis Canada, who resigned as U.S. Retail Sales Chief after just two months in the position. Additionally, Richard Schwarzwald stepped down as Chief Customer Experience Officer, and in January, Stellantis North America COO Mark Stewart left to become CEO of Goodyear Tires.
Antonio Filosa was appointed Jeep® CEO in November, taking over from Christian Meunier, who had been in charge since 2019. These shifts reflect an ongoing reorganization within Stellantis, which appears to be part of a broader strategy to streamline operations and revitalize its core brands.
