Chrysler Gets Ready To Introduce A High-Performance 300C As Final Farewell To Its Iconic Sedan!

High-Performance Edition 300, Coming To Detroit...

After we posted information yesterday about the two scheduled press conferences that the Chrysler Group has planned for the 2022 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), we learned some new details about what the Chrysler brand has in store for the event.

On Monday, we talked about the 2023 Chrysler 300 lineup in detail as the large American sedan enters its last year of production. One of those details was about a not-yet unveiled special edition.

Soon after our original post yesterday, Chrysler updated several of its social media accounts and even its Chrysler.com homepage with some interesting hints about a special edition Chrysler 300. On Chrysler’s homepage, a photo of a wheel with a Brembo four-piston caliper brake was posted, with the text…

Visit your dealer for vehicle availability.”

On Facebook Chrysler posted a new title photo on its page with the text, “We’re bringing the power in 2023. Stay tuned.”

So what could this mean? Up until 2021, the Chrysler brand exported a number of high-performance 300C SRT to markets like Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East.

The Chrysler 300 SRT was powered by the 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) HEMI® V8 producing 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft of torque and featured a number of the features one would find on a 2015 to 2018 Dodge Charger SRT 392, but just in a Chrysler 300.

Chrysler offered two unique models (with one special edition model for the Australian market) of the Chrysler 300 SRT between 2015 and 2020. The entry-level Chrysler 300 SRT is called the SRT Core. The SRT Core provided the following equipment…

  • 20-Inch Alloy Wheels
  • SRT Performance Cloth Seats
  • Brembo® High-Performance Brakes
  • Rear Limited Slip Differential (LSD)
  • High-Performance Sport Suspension (Coil Springs)
  • Performance Tuned Steering
  • Active Exhaust
  • Heavy Duty Engine Cooling
  • Steering Wheel Paddle Shifters
  • 8.4-Inch Touchscreen Uconnect 4C with Navigation
  • Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
  • Configurable Drive Modes
  • SRT Performance Pages
  • Launch Control
  • 300 km/h Speedometer

For those wanting more luxury with a more track-ready suspension, the premium 300 SRT model is what you would choose. The 300 SRT featured everything the Core package has plus…

  • 20-Inch Forged Alloy Wheels
  • SRT Performance Leather & Suede Seats
  • Adaptive Damping Suspension
  • 19-Speaker Harman Kardon® Audio System
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Blind-Spot Monitoring
  • Rear Cross Path Detection
  • Red Brembo® Calipers
  • Bright Pedals
  • Real Carbon Fiber Interior Trim

We believe that this special edition 300 Series will be a North American variant of the Chrysler 300 SRT. The teaser images clearly show the 4-piston Brembo brakes we have come to know on 392 HEMI models of the Charger and Challenger, not the 6-piston Brembo associated with the supercharged SRT HELLCAT models.

It is expected that the SRT nameplate will be absent from this vehicle, judging by the center caps in the teaser photo.

All we can say is that we will be there for the car’s unveiling in Detroit that night, as well as, streaming the event live here on MoparInsiders.com. So stay tuned for all the details surrounding this last hurrah of the 300, as they become available.
