The Grand Caravan Returns For The 2020 Model Year:

A lot of people were questioning the return of the iconic Dodge Grand Caravan nameplate after Chrysler announced the return of the Voyager nameplate for 2020. Instead, the Dodge brand has brought back its most popular vehicle for the new model year. As America’s best-selling minivan ever, the Dodge Grand Caravan continues its decades-long history of offering versatility and useful features at a tremendous value.

Since its introduction as the Caravan in 1983 as a 1984 model, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA US) has sold more than 14.6 million minivans globally. So let’s take a look at what is in store for the 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan lineup.

Not much as changed going into the new model year and Dodge will be using the same basic formula it has used for the past couple of years for its Grand Caravan lineup. New for 2020, the Grand Caravan SE Plus model features Uconnect Voice Command with Bluetooth, second-row Super Stow ‘n Go bucket seats, power eight-way driver seat, and remote start system.

The Grand Caravan SXT returns offering added content and even greater value. The SXT comes standard with 17-inch polished Tech Silver wheels, leather seats with suede inserts and silver accent stitching, power sliding doors and a power liftgate, Bright Stow ‘n Place roof rack and Super Console. Available options include navigation radio, sporty Blacktop Package, as well as the Driver Convenience Group with heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and second-row window shades.

The entry-level Grand Caravan SE trim also returns and continues to offer the best value in the segment. The Grand Caravan SE includes a number of standard features including remote keyless entry, sunscreen glass, heat and air conditioning in all three rows, third-row Stow ‘n Go with available tailgate seating, 6.5-inch touchscreen radio with ParkView rear backup camera, power locks and power windows in all three rows, power heated mirrors, as well as safety features like trailer-sway damping, electronic stability control (ESC), seven airbags and daytime running lamps (DRL)

The sporty Blacktop Package returns on SE Plus and SXT models. The package includes 17-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels, a Gloss Black grille, black headlamp bezels, an all-black interior, including headliner, door panels and console, and premium black cloth seats and door trim panels.

All Grand Caravan models come standard with the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. It produces 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft of torque and is backed with a six-speed automatic transmission.

A Grand Caravan GT model is also available, but only as a fleet model. This model is parallel to the SXT model and features a few fleet-specific options, but offers the looks of the SXT Blacktop Package. 

The Grand Caravan lineup also has a choice of six available colors for the 2020 model year. The colors include Billet, Black Onyx, Granite Crystal, IndiGo Blue, Octane Red, and White Knuckle. Two interior colors are available, Black and Black and Light Greystone.
