This year, the FIAT brand surprised the Brazilian marketplace with the launch of the new 2021 Fiat Strada subcompact pickup. Following the successful design of the popular Fiat Toro compact pickup, the FCA Design team in Latin America took some liberties at giving the Strada its own identity as well, drawing attention to customers and those in charge of the Brazil Design Awards.
Promoted by ABEDESIGN, the award recognizes as well as highlights the creative and innovative design in the Brazilian marketplace. The event was held this past Wednesday online, with the new Fiat Strada took the bronze recognition in Product Design.
“[The new] Strada is aligned with the design work that we have been doing for some years on our models. We constitute a line of coherent products aligned with the new positioning of the FIAT brand, a charming and pop brand, something that the new Strada represents well. All of this was only possible thanks to the work of a great team, which constitutes Design, product development, industrial engineering and quality. Receiving this important recognition from the Brazil Design Awards, consolidates the success for the new Strada, not only in sales figures, but also in its authenticity ”said Peter Fassbender, FCA’s Design Director for Latin America.
The all-new Strada pickup has been dominating the subcompact pickup segment and become one of the countries most popular vehicles. It will be joined by its direct sibling, the 2021 Ram 700 throughout South America, Latin America, and Mexico in expanding market share for both the FIAT and Ram Truck brands.
