The 2021 Dodge Charger Pursuit (Enforcer) Is Ready For Patrol:
New 8-Speed Automatic Transmissions Across Lineup...
The Dodge Charger Pursuit (Enforcer in Canada) is law enforcement’s best-selling sedan. Returning for duty for the 2021 model year, the Charger Pursuit comes equipped with a revised lineup and high-tech options designed to enhance officer safety, responsiveness, and fuel efficiency.
The biggest news for the 2021 Dodge Charger Pursuit is the addition of the beloved 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission on both powertrains. Unfortunately, it does mean that the Charger Pursuit that features the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with all-wheel-drive (AWD) has been discontinued. The 370 horsepower HEMI is now offered as a rear-wheel-drive only model.
For the units powered by the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which delivers 300 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft of torque, AWD is now standard equipment. These new powertrain combinations meet or exceed the Charger Pursuit’s previous performance profiles in all key categories of acceleration, braking, and handling. Thanks to the transmission updates, both models are expected to enable increased fuel efficiency for agencies.
Other new standard features include a top speed setting of 140 mph (225 kph) with the ability for customers to configure and limit top speed for specific agency needs, electric power steering across the lineup, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an increased Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 5,500 lbs. to accommodate additional payload.
