2023 Ram 1500 & Heavy Duty Pickups Will Get New Digital Cluster Display!

New 12.3-Inch Frameless Cluster Confirmed On Limited Models...

Ram has continued to update its Ram 1500 (DT) pickup since its introduction in January 2018. As the fifth-generation Ram 1500 enters its fifth year in production, many are expecting some huge changes going into the 2023 model year. However, we have learned that Ram will be saving its mid-cycle action (MCA) for the Ram 1500 for 2024. But it doesn’t mean that it will go into 2023 unchanged.

In recent days, an image leaked onto Facebook of the interior of a pilot 2023 Ram 1500 Limited EcoDiesel featuring a new frameless 12.3-inch thin-film-transistor (TFT) digital cluster. Currently, the largest TFT screen offered in the Ram 1500 and Heavy Duty is a 7-inch display

Thanks to our dealer connections, they have confirmed that both the Ram 1500 and Heavy Duty models will both get the new frameless 12-inch TFT cluster. It marks the first time that Ram has installed an all-digital instrument cluster in their pickups. It follows a similar pattern to other Chrysler Group models, switching to a digital format for its instrument cluster.

On the all-new Ram-based Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer (WS) SUVs, Jeep offers a 10.25-inch TFT cluster layout on the Wagoneer and a 12.3-inch on Grand Wagoneer. We expect that the lower-trim Ram models like the Tradesman, Big Horn, and Lone Star might adopt the 10.25-inch display, while the more luxury-oriented models will receive the 12.3-inch version.

In the Wagoneer models, the new frameless digital gauge cluster features nearly two dozen different menus that the user can select from, including driver-assist technologies such as adaptive cruise control (ACC), active driving assist, night vision, drowsy driver detection, and speed limit traffic signs display. We believe that the new displays will open Ram to more technologies like night vision and drowsy driver detection, if not for 2023 for the 2024 MCA.

The new screens will also offer full-screen, turn-by-turn navigation maps, and an off-road pitch-and-roll display. The full-color cluster features five reconfigurable tiles for at-a-glance data or quick and easy access to the most used information. Drivers may choose between analog or digital instrumentation. All cluster settings can be saved to a user profile as part of Uconnect 5’s memory settings for each driver. On-screen graphics are delivered in real-time, animated 3D.

As the Ram Heavy Duty models redesigned towing mirrors, a new hood design, the new digital clusters, and the introduction of a Rebel model, the Ram 1500 should go mostly unchanged for 2023.

Thats too bad, but inevitable. The Rams combination display using analogue tied with digital was very nicely done 4th and 5th gen. I haven't seen a full digital set up that i've liked but will need to see it in person. Really do not like Ford's version.

There's just something about that 3D/depth full analog or combo digital/alalog offers that is both appealing and familiar to me. But to be fair, I'm old, lol. And I understand the cost advantage of full digital. I'm actually a Ford guy but agree RAM's instrument cluster is much nicer.
