Team #129 Takes on the 2024 Rebelle Rally with Jeep® Gladiator
Women’s Off-Road Rally Showcases Precision Driving and Gladiator Capability...
The Rebelle Rally, now entering its ninth year, is the only all-women’s off-road navigation rally in the United States. Scheduled from October 10th to October 19th, 2024, this challenging event covers over 1,500 miles through the rugged terrains of Nevada and California. Unlike typical motorsports competitions prioritizing speed, the Rebelle Rally emphasizes precision driving and navigation, testing the limits of participants and their vehicles. Competitors must rely solely on maps and compasses, with no GPS or electronic assistance allowed, making strategic thinking a vital component of the competition.
Meet Team #129: Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit –
This year, Team #129 will feature the formidable duo of Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit, seasoned competitors with a proven track record in off-road racing. Barlow, the owner of Barlow Adventures in Arizona, specializes in four-wheel-drive training and Jeep® rentals. At the same time, Petereit, a dedicated nurse from Utah, has embraced off-roading as a serious hobby. Together, they bring 14 rally participants and 12 individual podium finishes to the table, showcasing their experience and skill. This marks their fourth consecutive year partnering with Jeep, and they will take on the 2024 Rebelle Rally in the highly capable 2024 Gladiator Mojave.
The Gladiator Mojave: Engineered for Performance –
The 2024 Jeep® Gladiator Mojave is the only vehicle in the Jeep lineup to carry the prestigious Desert Rated badge. This designation signifies its unrivaled capability in tackling high-speed desert terrains. The Gladiator Mojave combines innovative features with robust engineering, including a reinforced frame, strengthened iron steering knuckles, and a specialized suspension system equipped with segment-exclusive FOX™ hydraulic jounce bumpers.
New for 2024, the Gladiator Mojave comes standard with side-curtain airbags and a 12.3-inch Uconnect touchscreen radio, enhancing both safety and convenience for its drivers. Its design and features are tailored to conquer the most demanding off-road conditions, including sand, gravel, and steep inclines, making it a prime choice for the harsh landscapes of the Rebelle Rally.
Team #129’s Goals: Podium Aspirations –
As they prepare for the grueling eight-day event, Barlow and Petereit are focused on leveraging the Gladiator Mojave’s capabilities to navigate the tough checkpoints that lie ahead. “We’re honored to represent the Jeep brand once again,” said Barlow. “The rally is tougher than ever, but we don’t have to worry about capability in our Jeep Gladiator Mojave. We never hesitate to chase the toughest checkpoints, and that’s a huge advantage.”
Bob Broderdorf, Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep® North America expressed confidence in the team’s potential: “The Mojave is built for desert terrain and for the podium with these skilled competitors at the wheel.” With their extensive experience and the Gladiator’s formidable performance, Team #129 aims to add to their impressive history of podium finishes.
