A New Video Series Showcases the Design and Innovation Behind Jeep’s Hybrid AWD B-SUV

Stellantis has launched a four-part video series offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at the development of the Jeep® Avenger 4xe. The Avenger 4xe combines modern style, off-road capability, and everyday functionality. Jeep designers from diverse backgrounds—Mexico, France, Korea, Ireland, Italy, and Switzerland—contributed their unique perspectives and real-world experiences to shape this innovative vehicle. Their shared love of adventure and commitment to practicality resulted in a rugged and refined design.

This hybrid SUV is built for both urban commutes and off-the-grid explorations. It features key elements like rear tow hooks, roof rails for added cargo capacity, and an interior made with robust, waterproof, and washable materials. The Avenger 4xe also comes equipped with Jeep’s Selec-Terrain™ system, anti-scratch bumpers, a matte hood sticker to reduce glare, and enhanced technical angles for improved off-road performance.

Powering the Avenger 4xe is an advanced 48-volt hybrid system with a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine delivering 136 horsepower (101 kW) and two 21kW electric motors on the front and rear axles. This intelligent all-wheel-drive setup works seamlessly with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, allowing the vehicle to operate in full-electric mode at low speeds. The Avenger 4xe achieves a top speed of 194 km/h (121 mph) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 9.5 seconds.

The video series provides a unique perspective on the design and development of the Avenger 4xe, offering viewers an inside look at the creativity and technical expertise behind Jeep’s newest hybrid SUV.

How many out there share my thoughts that the Avenger might be the perfect small Jeep. Should it, as I’m becoming more inclined, replace the Renegade all together ? The stealing of sales by different Jeep models too close in critical aspects (Compass-Cherokee) is well understood and the Avenger gives the next Compass some breathing room. I hope this holds true for the new Cherokee. Product planners must be critically clear on this basic rule, that each model must offer distinctive value and product quality differences to not rob from Peter to pay Paul. Pricing is critical, the differences must be apparent. There will be doubters and different experiences out there, but Jeep, in my opinion, did a great job with the Cherokee. My two were close to flawless, did more than expected in executing driving dynamics and dependable performance. I’m super reluctant to trade mine in right now, it has been just outstanding and I love its looks too.
That said, there are minor short falls, mainly its length and width producing too narrow seating and too little cargo space. I’m excited by reports the new Cherokee will be longer and wider, a Wagoneer S spin off. Let’s hope so Jeep fans. A little more interior material luxury, especially in the door panels would be nice, but the established overall design is excellent, honestly exceeding my expectations. One game killer, this new Cherokee must have an ICE option or it a deal breaker for me.
As to the Avenger, bring it.
