The Performance AWD Gets Some New Tweaks For The 2019 Model Year...
For the past week and a half, Dodge dealers have been taking in new 2019 inventory of Dodge Chargers and Dodge Challengers. We talked a lot this summer about the new 2019 Dodge Challenger GT RWD, but unlike the Dodge Charger GT AWD that was axed after a successful model year the Dodge Challenger GT AWD lives on for the 2019 model year.
For the 2019 model year, the Challenger GT AWD receives last year’s R/T Scat Pack performance hood as standard equipment.
The 2019 Dodge Challenger GT AWD features Dodge’s award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, delivering 305 horsepower at 6,350 rpm and a responsive 268 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,800 rpm.
The Dodge Challenger GT AWD features Dodge’s high-performance all-wheel-drive system. Also found in the Charger AWD, this technologically advanced system includes an active transfer case and front-axle disconnect for excellent all-season performance and fuel economy. The Challenger GT AWD seamlessly transitions between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive with no driver intervention. Under normal driving conditions, the front axle is disengaged and 100 percent of the engine’s torque is directed to the rear wheels. This preserves the outstanding fun-to-drive performance and handling characteristics inherent to rear-wheel-drive vehicles. When sensors indicate the need for additional traction, the system automatically engages the front axle, instantly transitioning Challenger GT AWD into all-wheel-drive mode.
The Challenger GT AWD is available 13 colors for the 2019 model year. Those colors include B5 Blue Pearl Coat, Destroyer Grey Clear Coat, F8 Green, Go ManGo, Granite Crystal Metallic, IndiGo Blue, Maximum Steel Metallic, Octane Red Pearl, Pitch Black Clear Coat, Plum Crazy, TorRed, White Knuckle Clear Coat, and Yellow Jacket Clear Coat.
