2027 Jeep® Avenger Launching in Brazil with Four Trims

Subcompact Hybrid SUV Offers Local Styling and Entry-Level Capability

The Jeep® Avenger, the brand’s smallest SUV, is officially heading to Brazil as a 2027 model year vehicle, marking a new chapter for Jeep in South America. According to our friends at Autos Segredos, the subcompact SUV will roll off the Stellantis Porto Real Assembly Plant in Rio de Janeiro starting in May 2026, making it the fourth Jeep to be produced in Brazil, joining the Renegade, Compass, and Commander.

Local Production and Market Positioning –

Brazilian-Spec Jeep® Avenger Hybrid. (Jeep).

Until now, the Avenger has only been built at the Tychy Assembly Plant in Poland. With the move to Porto Real, Jeep not only brings production closer to its second-largest market outside the U.S., but also creates a new entry-level model for the region. The Avenger will slot below the Renegade in size, measuring 4.08 meters (160.6 inches) long, 1.78 meters (70 inches) wide, 1.53 meters (60.2 inches) tall, and riding on a 2.56-meter (100.8-inch) wheelbase. Cargo space is 380 liters (13.4 cubic feet), making it practical for city life and weekend getaways.

The Brazilian-spec Avenger will compete against other small SUVs like the Fiat Pulse, Renault Kiger, and Volkswagen T-Cross/Tera, giving Jeep a strong contender in the subcompact crossover segment.

Four Trim Levels with Hybrid Power –

When it arrives, the 2027 Avenger will be offered in Altitude, Longitude, 85th Anniversary, and Sahara trims, all powered by Stellantis’ Turbo 200 Hybrid engine. This 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine produces 130 horsepower and 20.4 kgfm (148 lb-ft) of torque, paired to a 7-speed CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

The T200 Hybrid system blends gasoline/ethanol power with mild-hybrid tech to reduce fuel consumption without sacrificing performance. It features a 12-volt e-motor that works as both an alternator and starter, plus dual batteries—a lead-acid and lithium-ion—to support efficiency features like:

  • e-Start & Stop – Shuts the engine off at stops for fuel savings.

  • e-Assist – Adds torque during acceleration to reduce engine load.

  • Smart Alternator – Charges batteries only when needed.

  • e-Regen – Captures braking energy for up to 25% more efficiency.

This setup makes the Avenger the most powerful 1.0-liter turbo in its class, while still promising strong fuel economy tailored for Brazil’s ethanol-friendly market.

Unique Styling for South America –

Brazilian-Spec Jeep® Avenger Hybrid. (Jeep).

While inspired by its European sibling, the Brazilian Avenger will wear unique front-end styling and redesigned rear taillights. Inside, Jeep promises upgraded materials while keeping the familiar layout of a digital instrument cluster, floating horizontal touchscreen, and full-width center air vents. A multifunction steering wheel rounds out the driver-focused cabin.

With production beginning in mid-2026 and showroom arrivals shortly after, the 2027 Jeep Avenger will give Brazilian buyers a fresh, tech-savvy option in the hot small SUV segment.

This well thought out Avenger can work better in this format as a global entry level Jeep that will explode sales in many markets. At this point I don’t see enough demand or plans for this in the U.S. where the Renegade or Compass will start the Jeep line domestically. Right now I project the new Compass and Cherokee being the key new entries to fuel the Jeep comeback in North America. Those two Jeeps will absolutely surge sales as will the next generation Grand Cherokee. Don’t forget the Comanche pick up speculated by influencers online. Look out for Jeep.
Relax Jeep fans, the bottom has been hit and the Jeep design team is still on its game and I bet Jeep sales double by late 2027. Yes DOUBLE !

I keep thinking about entry level vehicles and the more "low-end/affordable" trim levels with this next chapter of Mopar vehicles and of course, for me, my main focus is on the Charger and I can't help but really think about the 3.6L Pentastar V6. This engine has been in the Charger since 2011 puting out 292hp (303hp in the Challenger) with no real upgrades whatsoever. What's crazy to me is that I look at what GM had with the Camaro V6 with the same-size 3.6L but it put out 335hp and I feel like Mopar could upgrade the Pentastar 3.6L to that same 335hp, bump torque to around 295lb-ft just on the engine along, but then add the new ZF Gen-4 8-speed hybrid transmission to the back and have an amazing entry level charger solidly in the low $30K range. While alot of people, I feel, may look at the Hybrid transmission as just a way to compromise for economy, I look at it as a tunable power adder with a "clean energy" side effect. Let's say this next-gen Charger comes with an SXT model with a 3.6L Hybrid with the engine putting out 335hp/295tq, add a low output hybrid version of the Gen-4 8-speed that has in itself about 50hp and 100lb-ft of torque so right there you have 385hp/395lb-ft of torque. While those numbers don't set the world on fire in any way shape or form, that's 15hp more than a 5.7L Hemi with equal amounts of torque but with a better power band, yet it's still 35hp & 73lb-ft of torque shy of the Charger Six Pack GT. While some people would consider a car like this a "Food Stamp" trim level of the Charger, it's the affordable levels of these cars that keep the lights on and there is no reason that these cars shouldn't have special packages. Would it be so bad to have a Charger SXT/GLH Package that would incorporate a Direct Connection Tune, Cold air intake, and a high flow exhaust along with some "Pursuit" Spec upgrades including a newer equivalent of the "BR9" brake package that offer a 4-piston caliper setup (front & rear) from Akebono along with the same size 15.4" front rotors and 13.8" rear rotors but with them being just plain face rotors along with "pursuit" spec sway bars and a 3:09 gear ratio with the selectable AWD setup, drive modes, GLH package 20x11" wheels wrapped around 275/45R20 all season performance tires, GLH body work and graphics and GLH interior upgrades. Even if that pushes the car to 405hp/418lb-of torque, that still sits below the Six Pack GT in terms of power but gives the volume selling SXT variation a celebrated package that works similarly to how the Camaro had the RS 1LE package for the 3.6L. It's not much but it adds excitement and customization to the attainable trim levels. Something the brand desperately needs

Please No... Please let the honorable Pentastar retire with honor. It peaked its potential ..... I have NO IDEA what it has to do with Tiny Jeep. Was that meant for another thread?

Hurricane4 and it upcoming update is the powerplant of choice. We have to quit using historically competitive powerplants and not move forward as they become obsolete in the marketplace. They are boat anchors to moving forward in the competitive market. Its a bit heart breaking to be put in this position. They were good soldiers, they have just aged out. Let them retire with honor, not throw them into a fight they will lose. Too heavy, too lazy, too slow, under powered..... not always just where we are now.

On subject of Ecmp... just got back from Europe. Despite the nicely done styling that makes you lose scale. These things have a tiny interior. Think Fiat 500 or Old Panda .... Don't think Renegade. New Panda dwarfs it. Sorry I just don't think NA drivers will except something this small. If they want a new entry level Jeep in needs to be on Giant Panda platform. This architecture is quite old and inefficient dating back a joint venture with Dongfeng.

Camaro was killed. Just saying. We have new, better, stronger, and more competitive powerplant. We lose, if we cling so hard to past that we do not move forward.
