Order & Production Information On The 2022 Jeep® Grand Cherokee (WL74):

Here Is What We Know...

With the cancelation of the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), the Jeep® brand is left without a public site to debut their all-new two-row 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WL74). As the fifth generation of the most-awarded SUV nameplate ever, there is a lot riding on the launch of the newest interpretation of the Grand Cherokee. Especially, considering how its three-row Grand Cherokee L (WL75) variant has been well received by customers and the media.

We believe that the Jeep brand will instead publicly unveil the vehicle via Livestream, as it did with the WL75 and several other vehicles earlier this year. But we are now finding out some new information from our dealer sources about the WL74 launch, including ordering and production details.

Dealers will be able to start scheduling orders later this month for the new WL74. Those initial orders will begin production starting at the end of September, with Job #1 officially launching on Monday, September 27th.

For those looking for the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) 4xe version of the new WL74, you will have to wait an additional month as the Grand Cherokee 4xe is scheduled for Job #1 production on Monday, October 25th.

Thanks to one of our readers, who would like to remain anonymous, we are seeing the uncamouflaged WL74 models starting to show up on various Chrysler holding lots. This particular one sent in by our anonymous friend is a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4×4 and looks very sharp with its Bright White exterior paint and Black-painted roof. The look of the new Overland looks much more upscale than the current WK2 Overland models.

We can’t wait to get our hands on the fifth-generation two-row Grand Cherokee and give it a proper review.

Stay tuned as we will continue to bring all of the latest details, news, and information surrounding the new Grand Cherokee as it arrives. Had a chance to look closely at the new Grand Cherokee L this week and was I impressed. In person it is georgious and the interior is on a par or better than the luxury offerings from Audi and Mercedes, very upscale and just well executed. I’m waiting a year before my purchase of a two row so all the colors, options and features are available and I get exactly what I want. Of course I need to drive it too.Based on my first impression and the chip situation, this GC is a solid winner for Jeep. It also points to a better corporate philosophy of product offered from Jeep. Hopefully it carries over to Dodge, Ram and Chrysler.

I am not a fan of the proportions on the WL75, too wagon'ish... but oh my I might be in love with the WL74
