FIAT Is Getting Into The Real Estate Game In The U.S.?

New Collaboration Has Us Puzzled, But The Italian Brand Needs Any Kind Of Help In The U.S. Marketplace...

In a move that defies conventional industry boundaries, UNLMTD Real Estate, a prominent regional real estate development, investment, and property management company, has teamed up with FIAT to introduce a groundbreaking residential property in Fort Lee, New Jersey – the FIAT House. This audacious venture aims to redefine urban living, seamlessly integrating connectivity, community, sustainability, and style into an extraordinary living experience.

FIAT House, scheduled to open its doors in early 2024, will encompass over 300 meticulously designed rental residences, including furnished options, offering an array of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. The development takes inspiration from FIAT’s iconic 500 model, emphasizing space efficiency and premium finishes in each residence.

Nestled at the foot of the George Washington Bridge, FIAT House provides residents with unparalleled access to Manhattan and its environs. With eight major highways converging nearby, alongside various mass transit options and alternative transportation modes, FIAT House guarantees seamless connectivity to New Jersey, New York, and beyond.

One of the most distinctive features of FIAT House is the integration of sustainable mobility. An onsite car-sharing fleet of all-electric FIAT 500e vehicles will offer residents a transportation solution.

However, this ambitious partnership between UNLMTD Real Estate and FIAT is not without its controversy. Despite the innovative vision, there is scrutiny surrounding FIAT’s limited market presence in the U.S. Up to the Q4 period, FIAT has only sold 437 vehicles in the country. So, the collaboration doesn’t make sense to us, but FIAT needs anything to get some much-needed attention in the U.S. marketplace.

“We envision a future where people embrace mobility, live efficiently, and experience life to the fullest. We look forward to bringing that vision to life in a dynamic location, where in a few minutes of time, one can easily bike over the George Washington Bridge to Manhattan or just as easily access unparalleled hiking and walking trails on the Palisade cliffs,” stated Gabriella LoConte, development lead of UNLMTD Real Estate.

“FIAT is a love brand around the world and our partnership with UNLMTD has created a very unique opportunity to showcase what FIAT stands for: sustainable mobility with optimistic, forward-looking living,” said Olivier Francois, CEO of FIAT and Global Chief Marketing Officer of Stellantis. “We are thrilled to be at the forefront of this natural collaboration, which is bolstered by the simultaneous Grand Opening of FIAT House and launch of the new FIAT 500e for North America early next year.”

FIAT House will provide residents with a place to call home and foster a sense of community through tailored concierge services and engaging community events. The property’s expansive amenities and social spaces, spanning over 30,000 square feet, will be infused with the vibrant essence of the FIAT brand.

As the project progresses, more information about FIAT House will be unveiled in early 2024. Prospective residents eager to be part of this pioneering living experience can visit www.fiathouse.com to join the VIP Waitlist.

No surprise here. Many organizations invest in real estate as a diversification tool and why not a car company? No surprise at New Jersey either with its large Italian-American population, why not leverage that factor? I remain amazed at the sales numbers for Alfa Romeo and Maserati nation wide when here on affluent Italian-American populated Long Island, these Italian brands are so well represented and they literally are everywhere. Not BMW, Mercedes or Audi numbers, but certainly representative in the mix. No shock that in my historic and wealthy Oyster Bay Area, the heart of the Gold Coast of Long Island, there are eleven Italian restaurants within a half mile radius. Yes, my people have done well in their quest for the American Dream and they make no secret of their roots. Include Ferrari’s in that mix, because if you seek the exotic and high end, most people think Italian. I sure as heck do. Viva Italiano !
