RECALL: Winnebago Recalls 6,536 Campers For Fire Risk Due To Fuel Leak

Cummins Onan QG 2800i and Onan QG 2800i EVAP General Fuel Hose Causes The Issue...

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) has issued a recall for certain motorhomes due to a potential fire hazard. The recall affects 2020-2023 Travato, 2021-2023 Solis, and 2022-2023 Ekko models that are equipped with Cummins Onan QG 2800i and Onan QG 2800i EVAP generator sets. The fuel hose between the fuel filter and Injection Pump Module (IPM) may not be securely fastened, which could cause gasoline to leak.

If the gas leak occurs in the presence of an ignition source, it could lead to a fire, which poses a risk to the safety of passengers and property.

Cummins notified Winnebago of recall 23E030 in mid-April. Winnebago responded by implementing a shipment hold to prevent affected units from being released. An investigation was launched to identify all impacted units, and a notice of defect was filed. Fortunately, there have been no reports of incidents or injuries related to this issue.

Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel hose and clamps, as needed, free of charge. Winnebago will send out owner notification letters on June 2nd, 2023. Owners can contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885 for more information about the recall.
