FULL THROTTLE: ‘Fast X’ Drops First Official Trailer

Its Still All About Family...

The trailer for the tenth installment of ‘The Fast and the Furious’ has dropped. It’s been almost 22 years since the original film opened in cinema across the United States. The franchise that started as a movie about the street racing scene, has progressed into a series of wild action-packed heist films. However, it continues to bring in huge money at the box office.

This time around, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) must confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.

In 2011’s Fast Five, Dom and his crew took out nefarious Brazilian drug kingpin Hernan Reyes and decapitated his empire on a bridge in Rio De Janeiro. What they didn’t know was that Reyes’ son, Dante (Jason Momoa), witnessed it all and has spent the last 12 years masterminding a plan to make Dom pay the ultimate price.

Dante’s plot will scatter Dom’s family from Los Angeles to the catacombs of Rome, from Brazil to London and from Portugal to Antarctica. New allies will be forged and old enemies will resurface. But everything changes when Dom discovers that his own 8-year-old son (Leo Abelo Perry) is the ultimate target of Dante’s vengeance.

‘Fast X’ is said to have a massive $340 million budget. The cast alone, which consists of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jason Momoa, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, John Cena, Jason Statham, Sung Kang, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Brie Larson, and Rita Moreno, made up over $100 million of the budget, including $20 million for Diesel.

There is no doubt that there will be a number of Mopar vehicles in the film. Of course, the trailer is highlighted by Diesel behind the wheel of not one, but two Dodge Chargers. The first being his iconic blown 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, which appears to get a lot of screen time in the installment. The other is a 2022 Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT Redeye, that looks to have some kind of cut out over the factory IHI supercharger in the hood.

A few month ago, Dodge’s latest muscle car, the all-new battery-electric Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee Concept was spotted in California on the set of the film. So there is a pretty good chance we could see that car in some sequences in the film, if not a finale scene.

The film is set to open in the United States on Friday, May 19th, 2023. A sequel which is planned to serve as the eleventh and final main installment, is in development.

Damn, how to make me feel old

I actually got tickets to see the original one three weeks before it came out. I was amazed at how awesome the original was, despite the "danger to manifold" scene. Even the original trailer, which featured Limp Bizkit (who was not on the original soundtrack) was f^&*ing awesome.

Now look at the Fast films... yet we still watch them.
