The supercharged Ram 1500 TRX might be the “apex predator” when it comes to performance off-road trucks, but the “snake bitten” Ram SRT-10 was the “baddest” pickup on the planet in the mid-2000s. Offered for only three model years, the Ram SRT-10 became an instant classic for the performance pickup genre.
This particular 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 Regular Cab is currently available on the popular auction site, Bring A Trailer. But what makes this Ram SRT-10 so special is the fact that it only has 436 miles on the odometer. That’s right, the 8.3-liter “VIPER” V-10 hasn’t even been broken in yet.
Purchased new at Allen Samuels Dodge in Ennis, Texas, the truck remained registered in the state until the seller’s acquisition in January 2022. Now, the Flame Red-colored pickup is sitting in New York state looking for a new home.
Powered by the GEN III 8.3-liter (505 cubic-inch) “VIPER” V10 from the Dodge Viper, the Ram SRT-10 produced 500 horsepower (373 kW) @ 5,600 rpm and 525 lb.-ft. (712 N⋅m) of torque @ 4,200 rpm. With a top speed of 154 mph (248 km/h) and 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) time of 4.9 seconds, the 5,130 lb (2,327 kg) pickup could complete the 1/4-mile in 13.6-seconds @ 106 mph (171 km/h) if you could run through the gears of the 6-speed Tremec T-56 manual, fast enough. Numbers that are still impressive today.
Ridding on a set of polished 22-inch aluminum wheels wrapped with 305/40 Pirelli Scorpion Zero rubber, the Ram SRT-10 was rides on a lowered suspension. It was also equipped with a set of stiffer springs, an additional rear-axle shock (to help limit axle hop), and featured four-wheel ventilated discs.
Inside, the interior is upholstered in Dark Slate Gray leather with synthetic suede inserts and features “SRT-10” embroidery on the headrests. Silver-color trim accents the matching dashboard and door panels. Amenities include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, cruise control, an Infinity CD stereo with a subwoofer, a 6-disc CD-changer, push-button start, metal pedal covers, and a Hurst shifter.
The auction will continue until Thursday, June 16th. The trucks looks to be in prestine condition and should be a great piece for someone’s collection.
