Revolutionizing Mobility with Advanced Connected Features and Software Revenue Growth...

Stellantis is revolutionizing the automotive software landscape with a strategic plan that addresses both consumer (B2C) and business (B2B) customers. By introducing a range of innovative software products and connected features, the company is enhancing the mobility experience for owners of its 14 brands while significantly boosting high-margin software revenue.

Since 2021, Stellantis has seen its software revenues grow 2.5 times, driven by a surge in subscription-based products and connected services. The number of global subscribers has risen to over 5 million, while the monetizable connected car parc has increased by 15% to 13.8 million vehicles. In 2023 alone, Stellantis delivered more than 94 million over-the-air (OTA) updates, enhancing features and adding new functionalities to its vehicles.

Next-Generation Technology Platforms –

Stellantis is set to integrate three groundbreaking technology platforms by the end of 2024:

  • STLA Brain: This centralized computing architecture allows for full OTA access to sensors and actuators, reducing vehicle complexity by cutting the number of electronic control units (ECUs) in half. New features can be developed in-house in under six months.
  • STLA SmartCockpit: Powered by AI and machine learning, this platform offers a new level of personalization and connectivity, integrating seamlessly with users’ digital lives. It features simplified menus and AI-enabled experiences for navigation, media, climate, lighting, and productivity.
  • STLA AutoDrive: Leveraging STLA Brain and STLA SmartCockpit, this platform delivers advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with capabilities for hands-off/eyes-off driving (Level 2+). It aims to increase the uninterrupted time and distance for ADAS-supported driving.

  • AppMarket: Available in North America, this in-vehicle hub offers a regularly refreshed selection of services and experiences. Nearly half of Jeep® and Ram vehicles from the 2021 to 2023 model years have received this feature via OTA updates, with full coverage expected by the end of 2024.
  • e-ROUTES: This BEV-specific route-planning app, available in Europe and expanding globally, integrates real-time vehicle data and projects onto the vehicle’s central screen via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • Free2move Connect Fleet: This fleet management platform provides real-time visibility of vehicle health data, geofence boundaries, and geolocation, helping fleet managers optimize operations.
  • MyTasks: This tool helps drivers manage their schedules efficiently by providing real-time updates on the in-vehicle entertainment screen, while fleet managers receive automatic updates on task completion.
  • ChatGPT Enhanced Virtual Assistant: After a successful pilot in October 2023, Stellantis will offer this feature as standard in new and existing vehicles in 20 European countries by the end of 2024, providing natural language assistance for various tasks.

This approach, coupled with a global network of technology development hubs, enables 24/7 work cycles and customization of software products for each vehicle platform.

Financial Targets –

Stellantis aims to generate approximately €20 billion ($21.6 billion USD) in incremental annual revenues from its software strategy by the end of the decade. This ambitious target underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and its transformation into a leading player in automotive software and connected services.

Stellantis’ execution of its software strategic plan marks a decisive shift from traditional automotive operations to a more agile, startup-like approach. By focusing on speed, flexibility, and in-house software creation capabilities, Stellantis is well-positioned to lead the industry in delivering cutting-edge connected features and high-margin software revenue.

It’ll be interesting to see what the market is going to prove in the first couple of years, of when it goes on sale.

As with anything in life, change is going to bring exactly that. You may loose a few Die Hard V8 fans, but not necessarily the entire Dodge fanbase. There have been several moments in history where only one of the brands had V8 performance offerings and for a long time, Dodge did not have a performance V8 offering and still had exciting offerings in the market. I still remember the SRT4 cars, which were nasty performance vehicles for their time. I really feel like this new Hurricane-6 is going to continue on from the roots of where SRT started. Anyone who knows performance knows that turbo cars make alot of power and torque when modified. Think of the 2JZ-GTE, the RB26DETT or even the S55 engine in the M82 BMW M3. Figuring with Direct Connection involved there are going to be factory backed stage kits similar to what Dodge did with the SRT4. I think this and the new car are going to add more enthusiasts to the brand.

Dodge first off might not have abandoned V-8 power, but it was not their decision, it was Stellantis that made that decision. I believe Stellantis has bought into the green movement’s hysteria and that will be regretted if the current thinking prevails. Tragic thinking in my opinion.
What can one say, Dodge has little choice as “Eurothink” once again just does not get “Americathink”. Nothing new there, it’s just a diffent culture, set of experiences and corporate calls the shots. Dodge is doing the best they can, Tim has been given marching orders and is selling a pig in a poke with a forced smile and feel good talking points that keep those paychecks coming, who can blame him? I’d do exactly the same thing.
For me, my Hemi is going nowhere but I’ll give the new stuff a chance, probably a big chance because I love Dodge and like everyone else rooting for Dodge, as Caesar once said when crossing the Rubicon , “the dye is cast.”

I for one am tired of the perpetual moaning and groaning about the demise of V8 engines when Stellantis are funding development of vehicles that are relevant to 21st century motoring. Things like I6 engines that are more powerful, more economical and produce less CO2 than V8s, and interesting new segment entrants like the Hornet.

Get over it, and enjoy what is about to be unleashed by Stellantis.

I give dodge about another 2-3 years before the brand is axed or sold off. Their customer base doesn't want a modern 67 charger that sounds like a vacuum cleaner. I for one will never own an EV and if that's they way they are going, they are dead to me. Most of the people online that currently own a Dodge V8 feel the same. I'm not talking about 10 year old keyboard warriors. They are fools to think that everyone is just gonna go all in to electrification especially with the many downfalls.
