“We introduce Jeep’s global compact SUV, the new Compass, newly redesigned after four years,” Jacob Aumann, the President and Managing Director of Stellantis Korea, told the media during the launch event located in the capital of Seoul.

For the Korean market, the Compass will be available in three different models: Limited 4×2, Limited 4×4, and the luxury-oriented S 4×4. Each model will come standard with the aging naturally-aspirated 2.4-liter “Tigershark” inline-four-cylinder engine with engine stop-start (ESS) technology. The Tigershark delivers 177 horsepower and 172 lb.-ft. of torque mated to an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic for 4×2 models and a ZF-sourced 9-speed automatic for 4×4 models.

The updated 2022 Jeep Compass interior design showcases a modern, technologically advanced cabin that features a new 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 center stack display, a new available 10.25-inch frameless full-color thin-film transistor (TFT) digital cluster, ample storage, comfort, and attention to craftsmanship. The Compass’ interior design team’s goal was to ensure that the compact SUV offers a premium experience while accentuating functionality.

“The latest Jeep Compass has a beautifully redesigned interior that, with a host of comfortable features and safety technologies, will capture the attention of the next generation,” said Billy Hayes, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for India and the Asia Pacific Region at Stellantis. “It is more premium than ever, rivaling any other vehicle in its class. Our new Compass has already proven its credibility and its success in sales in countries as diverse as India, Japan, the United States, and Australia.”

The 2022 Jeep Compass also offers the latest and most advanced LED lighting technology. LED headlamps provide exceptional performance with a balanced beam of light that minimizes glare for oncoming traffic while doubling the light output directly in front of the vehicle for improved illumination of the road ahead. Side lighting improves visibility while cornering and is activated by either steering wheel angle input or turn signal activations when the headlamps are on.

Pricing for the 2022 Jeep Compass Limited 4×2 starts at ₩ 51,400,000 (or about $39,630 USD), with the top-of-the-line S 4×4 beginning at ₩56,400,000 (or about $43,485 USD). The Compass is now available, and inventory is being imported in as we speak.

The brand sold 10,449 vehicles in Korea last year, and Jeep has big plans for Compass to help expand on those numbers for 2022.
