Stellantis Shuffles Leadership as Global Turnaround Gains Momentum
Automaker Strengthens Regional Oversight Ahead of 2026 Strategy Reveal

Stellantis continues to refine its leadership structure as CEO Antonio Filosa advances a company-wide recovery plan aimed at restoring profitability and focus across global markets. The automaker announced a new round of executive appointments aimed at sharpening regional leadership and strengthening the brand’s path toward its 2026 strategic update.

Emanuele Cappellano, who has been leading Stellantis Pro One, will now also oversee the company’s European operations and brands as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Enlarged Europe. His expanded role reflects Stellantis’ intent to better align its commercial and passenger vehicle business in a region critical to its bottom line. Reporting directly to Cappellano, Jean-Philippe Imparato will now dedicate his full attention to Maserati, guiding the luxury marque’s ongoing performance turnaround, as well as Stellantis & You retail operations.
In South America, Herlander Zola has been promoted to Head of the South America region, taking over Cappellano’s previous responsibilities. Zola’s experience in commercial operations and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) across Brazil provides a strong foundation for expanding Stellantis’ already dominant presence there.

Meanwhile, Samir Cherfan officially joins the Stellantis Leadership Team (SLT) while maintaining oversight of the Middle East, Africa (MCA), and the company’s growing Micromobility business. His elevation signals Stellantis’ recognition of the long-term potential in those markets.
In Asia, veteran executive Grégoire Olivier will now lead the China and Asia-Pacific region, expanding his previous focus on China strategy. The move aims to better integrate Stellantis’ fragmented operations in one of the world’s most competitive markets.

Additionally, Ralph Gilles, long regarded as one of the auto industry’s most respected designers, has been promoted to the SLT as Global Head of Design—a move likely to bring stronger creative leadership across all brands. On November 1, Francesco Ciancia will also rejoin Stellantis from Mercedes-Benz as Global Head of Manufacturing, succeeding Arnaud Deboeuf, who departs the company.
CEO Antonio Filosa emphasized that these changes mark the next phase in Stellantis’ global recovery: “We’re promoting exceptional talent and sharpening our regional focus as we prepare for future success.”

As Stellantis navigates a challenging global automotive market, these leadership moves underscore Filosa’s commitment to decentralizing control, empowering regional leaders, and revitalizing performance across key divisions—from mass-market mobility to luxury and electrification.
