Stellantis Offers New Charging Packages for BEV Buyers

Customers Can Choose At-Home Chargers or Charge Credits ($600 Value)...

Stellantis is making a significant push to encourage customers to transition to battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) by offering two new purchase packages through its Free2move Charge program. These packages are designed to simplify the charging process and make the switch to electrification more appealing.

With the purchase of a new Stellantis BEV, customers can choose between two options:

  • Free2move Charge Home Package: This option includes a Level 2 at-home charging station, valued at approximately $600. The charging unit allows owners to charge their vehicles conveniently at home. The Free2move Charge app also helps owners identify the best times to charge, avoiding peak electricity rates.
  • Free2move Charge Go Package: For those who prefer charging credits, this option provides $600 worth of credits to be used at public charging stations across the country. The Free2move Charge app makes it easy to find, activate, and pay for charging at over 75,000 charging ports in the U.S., including networks like ChargePoint, Shell Recharge, and EVgo.

It helps users locate charging stations, track charging history, and manage their charging credits.

Mathilde Lheureux, Head of Stellantis’ Energy and Charge Business Unit, added, “We want to ensure that our customers easily understand the charging options available to them before or upon purchase. With the Free2move Charge packages, we aim to make the transition to electric vehicles seamless and convenient.”

Stellantis plans to expand its charging infrastructure through a joint venture with IONNA, aiming to deploy at least 30,000 in-network chargers in the U.S. starting in 2024, with further expansion into Canada.

They been throwing in those level 1 chargers, I would just include a switching one that can be either a level 2 or Level 1. Level 1 is damn near useless anyway.

Free 2 move don't seem that portable or have the switching option. I sure they could develop that with Mopar.
