Stellantis Charts a New Course: A Bold Strategy for 2025

Company Shifts Focus with Dealer-Friendly Incentives and Fresh Products

Stellantis is making a decisive break from the strategies put in place by former CEO Carlos Tavares, rolling out a refreshed vision aimed at strengthening dealer relationships and reinvigorating its lineup. During the recent National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) convention in New Orleans, Stellantis North America executives outlined a bold plan to drive growth, emphasizing consistent incentives, expanded advertising, and highly anticipated new product offerings.

Antonio Filosa, Stellantis’ Chief Operating Officer (COO) of North America, clarified that the company is refocusing on working closely with dealers to ensure success in an increasingly competitive market.

“We are fully committed to strengthening our partnerships with dealers, and that begins with a renewed focus on collaboration,” Filosa stated. “Our new approach is centered on removing unnecessary limits for our dealers and ensuring we are aligned and able to succeed together.”

One of the biggest shifts in Stellantis’ strategy is the return to pre-pandemic advertising levels, including a highly anticipated return to the Super Bowl for both Jeep® and Ram. The company aims to generate stronger brand awareness and excitement, which dealers have been asking for as they navigate a challenging retail landscape.

Incentive programs will also be more predictable and competitive, offering dealers a clear and stable framework. After a turbulent 2024, Stellantis leaders acknowledged that consistency in pricing and incentives is essential to rebuilding dealer confidence and driving customer demand.

Stellantis is also bringing major updates to its product lineup, including:

  • New Affordable Ram 1500 Trims – More cost-effective versions of the best-selling pickup to capture budget-conscious buyers. In recent interviews, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis said he wants more sub-$50,000 truck offerings.
  • Ram 1500 Ramcharger – A range-extended model offering a mix of electric power and traditional range capabilities. The Ramcharger will be offered in Tradesman, Big Horn (Lone Star), Laramie, Limited, and Tungsten models.
  • Dodge Charger Returns to Gasoline – The gasoline Dodge Charger SIXPACK will launch before this summer, something MoparInsiders broke a few months ago. There will be two models offered at launch: a 420 horsepower four-door and a 550 horsepower two-door model. More offerings are expected to appear later on.
  • Jeep® Will Expand its Lineup with Three New Nameplates – Jeep will introduce three new models with powertrain options covering internal combustion (ICE), hybrid, and fully electric (EV) variants.

Following the two-hour session at NADA, dealers expressed optimism about Stellantis’ commitment to transparency, consistency, and dealer-first policies. By prioritizing advertising, streamlining incentives, and rolling out new products, the company is working to increase sales while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience and inventory management.

With these strategic changes, Stellantis is poised for a strong 2025, aiming to strengthen its position in North America and win back dealer trust. As the company pivots away from previous leadership’s policies, the focus is clear: collaboration, innovation, and delivering the vehicles customers want.

Now that the cancer is gone (Carlos), I hope the new medication works and gets here fast. Sounds like everyone below Carlos knew the issues but were to afraid to do or say anything. I hope now he is gone, they stand true to this and turn things around!!!

I do hope that Stellantis brings a DOHC V8 hybrid back to replace the hellcat powertrains however I am definitely interested and intrigued by the 3.0L Hurricane I-6 Twin turbo. By itself without mods, the S/O Charger can out-perform a 6.1L Hemi SRT8 Charger and the S/O can embarrass the mighty Charger Scat Pack-392 and for me that it more than a great place to be at for a starting point. I would love to see the Direct Connection make a few bolt-on, 50-stage legal upgrades for these new powertrains seeing that there after aftermarket companies out there already upgrading and modifying the Hurricane I-6 with tuners, exhaust and other things. Even an overly conservative tune with a better intake, intercoolers and a turbo-back exhaust system adding 60hp with a broader torque band while adding a few more ft-lbs would be pretty awesome. A few handling upgrades, Direct Connection cosmetic upgrades inside and out and the car would be pretty awesome. just my opinion though

One of the things Stellantis suits should look into and improve is their prehistoric warranty. Offer two or three years of complimentary maintenance should be included. Plus an "economy" version of the Ram 1500 going for less than $50k? Really? That is a joke, ain't it? Wow! 👎👎. 🏹♐

Took only a couple of years of neglect and avarice to destroy a company’s reputation and it will take time to restore it. All the changes announced or projected are common sense long established intelligent business practices that should have been done as regular operating policy. By putting personal bonus income above all else, in fact knowingly stripping the company of the long term viability now staring it in the face, Travares could be considered a criminal and should be prosecuted. Lucky some good things were under development or being studied by engineers not tasked with the electric insanity and might be fast tracked. No doubt years of debt can be anticipated to right this ship.
With the new path forward there is a light at the end of the tunnel if executives just dig deep into the achievements and ethos of past Mopar lure, as in that wealth of history so much can come to market that can lead to a bright future.
I’m cautiously optimistic, kind of anyway.
