Jeep® –
For Q1 2024, Jeep® brand sales are highlighted by increases in the bookends of its 4×4 lineup for both Jeep Compass (up 106%) and Jeep Wagoneer (up 26%). Also marking growth is Jeep Gladiator, which is up 12%. The midsize pickup offers unmatched off-road capability, towing, and hauling, plus several enhancements for 2024, including a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen and first- and second-row side-curtain airbags.
Both of the Jeep brand’s plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) marked quarterly increases, with Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe sales rising 7% and sales of the segment-exclusive Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe increasing 18%. For FCA Canada, overall sales of PHEVs across all brands rose 12% for Q1 2024.
Chrysler –
The Chrysler brand suffered a dismal Q1 2024 period with only 1,522 units sold, a decline of 31% when compared to Q1 2023. Leading the way was the Pacifica with 782 units sold and the more value-based Grand Caravan selling 609 units in the first quarter.
Dodge –
The Dodge Durango led the way for the brand in Canada with a total of 1,458 units, despite a 35% decrease in sales compared to the same time last year. Interestingly enough, Dodge’s Hornet was broken up into two different figures for the Canadian market with the turbocharged 2.0-liter Hornet selling 219 units and the Hornet R/T PHEV selling 189 units.
Ram –
Ram sales dropped dramatically during the Q1 2024 period with only 16,445 units sold. That is a decrease of 24% compared to Q1 2023. Ram did say that Heavy Duty sales increased 4% during the quarter.
Alfa Romeo –
Alfa Romeo continues to mark increases on the strength of the all-new Tonale. Available as a PHEV with an electric range of 53 kilometers (33 miles), Tonale represents the beginning of a transformation to greater electrification, while staying true to the performance characteristics of the brand. Alfa Romeo sales increased 32% for the quarter.
FIAT –
Despite dismal sales for the past couple of years, the FIAT brand is gearing up with the launch of the 2024 Fiat 500e battery-electric vehicle (BEV). The electrified city car will initially be offered in B.C. and Quebec. It will deliver a range of 227 kilometers (141 miles) and starts at $42,190 ($39,995 MSRP plus additional fees). The Fiat 500e is Canada’s lowest 2024 MSRP all-electric vehicle and is eligible for up to $5,000 in federal and up to $7,000 in provincial EV rebates. FIAT sold a total of 6 vehicles in Canada for the Q1 2024 period.
