This year, 101,000 readers took part in the forty-five annual edition of the “Best Cars” competition, held by Auto Motor und Sport. Readers had the choice between 387 models divided into 11 categories, including separate acknowledgments for import vehicles. For this year, it marked the first time that the awards were held virtually due to the ongoing pandemic.
With its near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution, the Giulia sets the benchmark for performance sedans. Embodying Alfa Romeo’s la meccanica delle emozioni (the mechanics of emotion) spirit and offering race-inspired performance thanks to its 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine delivering 280 horsepower and 306 lb.-ft. of torque, the Giulia can run 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and has a top speed of 149 mph.
