A unique Mopar collector car is making its way to the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction tomorrow, Thursday, January 23rd. This one-of-one 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, built exclusively for the late Sergio Marchionne, former CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), is a true collector’s dream. Packed with personalized features, a powerful engine, and a deep connection to the Mopar community, this Challenger represents the pinnacle of custom craftsmanship.
Under the hood lies a 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) HEMI® “Apache” SRT V8 engine, producing an impressive 470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. Complementing this powerhouse is a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission, which reflects Marchionne’s passion for true driver’s cars. Despite being over a decade old, the car has just 2,911 miles on the odometer, preserving its like-new condition.
The car’s exterior is painted in Pitch Black, accented by custom Dark Charcoal racing stripes. The Chrysler Product Design Office (PDO) meticulously painted these hand-laid stripes and buried them under clearcoat for a seamless finish. Other custom touches include factory-lowered Mopar adjustable coilovers, a custom Mopar exhaust, smoked taillamps, and Gloss and Satin Black 392 HEMI badges. The Matte Black factory forged 20-inch x 9-inch wheels add to the car’s aggressive stance.
Inside, the Challenger features bespoke Black leather seats embroidered with SRT and 392 logos. High-end options such as the Custom Preferred Package, Media Center Package, and a power glass moonroof make this a fully loaded muscle car. Signatures from Marchionne and key members of the SRT design team—including Ralph Gilles and Mark Trostle—adorn the dashboard and engine bay, adding an irreplaceable personal touch.
This Challenger has been meticulously preserved, having spent the last 11 years in a climate-controlled collection. The sale includes the original window sticker, build sheet, owner’s manual, two sets of master keys, and documentation from its original sale at Barrett-Jackson, where it fetched $175,000.
With its rarity, pedigree, and performance, it will be interesting to see how much the car will go for this time.
