Having set a record-breaking one-day attendance of over 40,000 in 2022, Roadkill Nights is moving the starting line for street-legal drag racing to the corner of Woodward Avenue and W. Pike St. in Pontiac. This strategic relocation brings the thrill of racing to the heart of the city, making it more accessible and exciting for attendees.

Tim Kuniskis, Dodge CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We can’t wait to bring Roadkill Nights and street-legal drag racing to the heart of downtown Pontiac. Our little horsepower circus has grown from a grassroots event to a can’t-miss spectacle for any true muscle car enthusiast.”

Roadkill Nights, now in its eighth year, will mark its second stop of 2023 in Pontiac. The first event, Dodge Last Call Powered by Roadkill Nights, took place on March 20th, 2023, at The Strip in Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Las Vegas event showcased exhilarating drag races and featured the breathtaking helicopter-drop reveal of the 1,025-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, the final installment of the Dodge “Last Call” special-edition vehicles.

Eric Schwab, MotorTrend Group’s SVP, Head of Revenue, Operations, and Strategic Partnerships, expressed his excitement about the expanded footprint and new venue, stating, “We are thrilled to bring the excitement of street-legal drag racing and the dynamic experience of MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge to downtown Pontiac. Whether you’re a drag racer, a car enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun car festival with your family, Roadkill Nights guarantees an unforgettable experience.”

These attractions are expected to draw tens of thousands of attendees to the lively streets of downtown Pontiac.

Mayor Tim Greimel expressed his excitement about Roadkill Nights staying in Pontiac and moving to the downtown area, emphasizing its positive impact on the local community. He stated, “The move downtown will reduce noise in residential neighborhoods while bringing more activity, customers, and patrons to support downtown restaurants and other business establishments.”
