Jeep® Brazil Gives Us A Sneak Peek At It’s All-New Commander (H1) SUV:

Jeep® Brazil has launched its fourth tester, for its seven-passenger Commander (H1) SUV. The new Commander is the latest three-row SUV from the American adventure brand, however, it is very unlikely to set foot on American shores. 

The latest teaser uses actual photos and video of the new D-segment SUV, giving us our first look at the newest vehicle to wear the Commander name. 

On the outside, the Full LED optical assembly integrated with the traditional and striking seven Jeep slits in the grille and the new dynamic arrows, the Commander logo with exclusive copper details, the robust lines of the rear with the sophistication of the signature of the headlamps and the acronym that presents the name of the new Overland version. Recently, our friends at Autos Segredos (Auto Secrets) in Brazil, told us that only two trim levels would be available, one being the Limited and the other the Overland.

Inside, there is the new Jeep steering wheel and a full-digital cluster like we have seen on the new Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee L, and Wagoneer. Most of its instrument panel (I/P) is shared with the Compass on which it is based including the new floating Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Commander does get a bit more refined than its Compass sibling thanks to an I/P finished in two materials, black leather and brown suede with Burnished Cooper stitching, the seats are done in brown leather with details in brown suede and classic embroidery on the backrest until reaching the armrest with the inscription “Jeep 1941”.

The teaser video also includes morse code once again, as in the other videos, with the message “Made and developed in Brazil”. This time, it prepares those watching for the big moment of the car’s revelation, starting more slowly and reaching its peak in the revelation of the entire model and bringing new easter eggs for those who like to discover secrets.

The Commander is the only SUV of the D-segment SUV designed in Brazil. It will be officially be launched on August 26th and raises the brand’s luxury level in the South American region. It will be produced at the Pernambuco Assembly Plant and will be exported to other Latin American countries.

The vehicle will also be built in India, under the name Jeep Meridian (as Commander was recently used by automaker Mahindra), and has the designation of H6. It will feature a right-hand-drive (RHD) layout and will more than likely have a diesel mild-hybrid (mHEV) powertrain. That version should be starting production later in 2022.
