Stellantis Brazil (Fiat Chrysler Automóveis Brasil Ltda.) is continuing its recall campaign for 2016, 2019, 2020, and 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie pickups, which it started back on October 8th, 2021. Stellantis is asking owners to schedule an appointment at one of Ram Brazil’s dealers so that it can replace the driver and passenger side curtain airbags at no cost.
The first phase of the campaign identified that in the event of unexpected activation of the side curtain airbags, could cause serious or fatal physical damage to the driver and/or passengers of the vehicle. This could be due to the possibility of losing control of the vehicle’s steering and eventual projection of internal airbag elements.
Services will be carried out via prior appointment in order to avoid agglomeration, respecting the safety guidelines of the Ministry of Health. Because of this, it is important that the vehicle owner contact the dealership of his/her choice to be informed about the expected series. The estimated repair time is approximately 3 hours according to Stellantis.
