Manley To Announce Plans For FCA By End Of Month:

Manley To Appoint New Team...

According to Reuters, recently appointed Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) CEO Mike Manley will announce his organizational plans for the automaker by the end of September. The announcement came at a shareholder meeting this past week to vote to officially name Manley as the CEO, after the death of former CEO Sergio Marchionne.

“When we learned Sergio Marchionne could not return to work the board decided to appoint Mike Manley, who was the only candidate,” Chairman John Elkann said.

Elkann also added that the decision was already planned to replace Marchionne with Manley after Marchionne’s planned retirement in 2019.

According to reports, shareholders voted 99% in favor of the decision to make Manley the company’s CEO.

It is likely, Manley will continue on the 5-year plan that the company announce on June 1st. What lays in question is who will replace Manley’s former and current positions at the company.

Currently Manley is the CEO of the Jeep and Ram brands. He also been in charge of the Asia-Pacific region and recently took over Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region after Alfredo Altavilla announced his decision to leave the company when he learned that Manley was being named CEO. Altavilla was also in the running for the position according to some reports.

Sources are saying that Jim Morrison, Head of Ram Brand will more than likely become the CEO of both Ram and the Jeep brands. Morrison has been head of the Ram brand since 2016. Before that position, Morrison had been Director of Jeep Brand Marketing and a Senior Manager for both the Chrysler and Jeep brands, Marketing Product Planning, and working with many management positions in dealer development and sales. Morrison has been with the company for more than 20 years.
