Stellantis Argentina (FCA Automobiles Argentina SA), is recalling certain models of its RAM lineup that include the fourth-generation Ram 1500 and Ram 2500 models to have the driver and/or passenger side curtain airbags checked and, if necessary, replaced free of charge.
Those trucks affected by the recall are (including the last 8 digits of their VINs)…
Model | Year | VIN (Last 8 Digits) |
Ram 1500 (DS) | 2015 | FG648007 to MG702710 |
2016 | ||
2021 | ||
Ram 2500 (DJ) | 2015 | FG646762 to GG141804 |
2016 |
As reported in the first phase of this recall campaign, it was identified that the eventual unexpected activation of the side curtain airbags could cause the eventual loss of control of the direction of the vehicle and the projection of fragments inside it, exposing the driver and /or passengers to possible serious or fatal bodily harm.
On the other hand, in the case of the vehicles identified with the following last 8 digits of their VIN: MG700041 and MG702710, the possibility was identified that the variation in the mass of gas causes the lack of deployment and/or the slow or aggressive deployment of the airbag.
Also, customers who purchased separate parts with the following VIN numbers: 68161578AJ and 68161579AJ, in the years 2014, 2015, and 2019 should also go to the dealer network to check if the part is a defective part. If found to be defective, it will also be replaced.
RAM Argentina is asking owners to contact their nearest RAM dealer. A representative will assist them in coordinating the entry of their vehicle into the official dealership network that is convenient for them. The estimated time to carry out the aforementioned tasks is approximately three hours and may vary according to the flow of attention at the chosen dealership. For this reason, those whose trucks are affected may want to schedule their visit in advance.
Those who have questions can contact FCA Automobiles Argentina SA through their contact number (0800-333-7070) on business days from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or via email from www.mopar.com.ar/contacto.php
