Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 Jeep® Grand Cherokee (WL74) and the 2021 to 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L (WL75) for taillight side marker assemblies may be damaged and not illuminate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, “Lamp, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”
A taillight side marker that does not illuminate can reduce vehicle visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
The affected units are as follows…
- 2021 to 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L (WL75) – 98,832 units – Built between 12/3/2020 to 11/23/2021
- 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WL74) – 354 units – Built between 5/17/2021 to 11/18/2021
Production and supplier records were used to identify the suspect periods.
Recall Chronology –

- From Wednesday, January 19th, 2022, through Thursday, June 23rd, 2022, FCA US TSRC reviewed FCA US records and met with FCA US engineering to review the issue and to understand the affected components, failure mode, and determine the suspect population.
- On Wednesday, June 29th, 2022, the FCA US TSRC organization recognized there exists a population of vehicles built with damaged taillamp-side markers, potentially not in compliance with FMVSS No. 108.
