The suspect period began on October 13, 2023, when vehicles were first produced with an incorrect part handling process and ended on August 11, 2024, when vehicle production processes were corrected. Vehicle production records were used to determine the suspect period.

Similar vehicles not included in this recall were built after the suspect period.

Recall Chronology – 

 
  • On June 4, 2024, the FCA US LLC (“FCA US”) Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance (“TSRC”) organization was notified of a potential issue related to some 2025 Ram 1500 vehicles built with damaged front wheel bearing encoder rings.
  • From June 2024 through October 2024, FCA US TSRC met with FCA US engineering and manufacturing to review the issue, understand the failure mode, and determine the suspect population.
  • From June 2024 through October 2024, FCA US TSRC analyzed field records and customer assistance records to understand potential customer consequences.
  • On October 2, 2024, the FCA US TSRC organization recognized a vehicle build issue existed on certain vehicles related to a condition that can lead to loss of WSS, potentially resulting in noncompliance with FMVSS No. 126.
  • On October 17, 2024, FCA US determined, through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, to conduct a voluntary safety recall of the affected vehicles.

Dealers will inspect and replace the front wheel bearing hub assembly, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on December 19, 2024. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA’s number for this recall is 97B.
