Random Ram Heavy Duty Prototype Might Be Base For Middle-East Truck:

Export Tester Caught At Cummins Office...

Our spy photographers have caught a very interesting new Ram 2500 Heavy Duty prototype, located at the Cummins office in Auburn Hills, Michigan. While some prototypes tend to have parts from miscellaneous models thrown together to test different components, most are usually built to production specifications. So let’s take a look at this unique prototype.

At first glance, this prototype seems to be a hodgepodge of several 2019 Ram Heavy Duty models. While we can tell that this truck was covered by camouflage in the earlier stages of its life thanks to the reminiscence of decals across the vehicle, the truck looks to be a Tradesman model, judging by the wheels and mirrors. However, the truck is also equipped with a set of advanced LED headlights with Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) from the Laramie Longhorn and Limited models. We also notice that the headlamps are absent of its amber turn reflectors, a trait common for export models. The truck also features the chrome grille from the Laramie grille.

This truck also features an export-style tailgate with the bold R-A-M text in chrome letters. More than likely this is a Ram 2500 Middle-Eastern-spec test truck.

Ram Trucks Middle-East has already announced that the 1000 lb-ft. of torque version of the Cummins will not be available in that market, while the standard Cummins 6.7-liter Turbo Diesel with 370 horsepower @ 2,800 rpm and 850 lb.-ft. of torque @ 1,700 rpm will make an appearance in the market. Of course, the standard powertrain for all Middle-East Heavy Duty models will be the 6.4-liter HEMI V8, delivering class-leading 410 horsepower @ 5,600 rpm and 429 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4,000 rpm.

Currently, Ram Trucks only offers the Ram 2500 model as its only Heavy Duty option for the Middle-East market. The Ram 2500 for that market is only available in the Laramie trim. The truck should make its appearance in the Middle-Eastern market in the first-quarter of 2020 according to our sources. For everything 2019 Ram Heavy Duty, be sure to check out HDRams.com.
