Ram Releases Teaser For The Upcoming Hellcat-Powered TRX:

Teaser Drops On The Day That Ford Is Set To Debut Its New F-150...

This morning, Ram Trucks shocked everyone with its first teaser trailer of the upcoming 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. The nine-second teaser doesn’t show off any details about the truck, but instead, we get a brief sound of that awesome supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 engine delivering 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque which lies under the hood of the TRX. The teaser ends with the subtitle screen featuring the TRX logo. On Ram Trucks’ social media accounts another teaser image was posted, showing the logo and a text saying “Late Summer 2020”.

There is no doubt that Ram is trying to make sure that the Ford won’t get all the media attention today, as Ford plans to debut their 2021 Ford F-150 tonight during a Livestream event on social media. With the TRX being Ram’s response to going after the brand’s off-road Raptor pickup, Ram has the Ford brand in its crosshairs for 2021.

While Ford’s F-150 Raptor has been the leader in off-road trucks for over a decade, Ram Trucks has been quietly building up its off-road offerings. The new Ram 1500 TRX (which Ram is calling “T-REX” and has dropped the Rebel name away from) is a direct plan of attack at taking the title away from Ford. The TRX will join the most capable off-road pickup ever – the Ram 2500 Power Wagon and the new EcoDiesel-powered Ram 1500 Rebel to offer a wide range of off-road pickups on the market.

The TRX will wear a version of the Ram “off-road” grille design found on the Rebel and Power Wagon model, but it will be unique to the truck. The truck will have a completely revised suspension allowing it to tackle dunes or compete in events like the Baja 1,000 at full-speed. A new widebody kit mimics the popular styling from the fourth-generation Ram Rebel TRX Concept pickup, giving the TRX the most aggressive look of any of the Ram 1500 pickups.

We know that the new TRX will feature a lot of performance comforts as well, such as a new flat-bottom Alcantara-wrapped steering, aluminum paddle shifters, a center console gear shifter, 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen, Launch Control, and several customizable drive modes to tackle any terrain.

Originally scheduled to make its big debut at the 2020 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the TRX will make its official debut via an online event similar to the launch of the European Fiat 500 BEV, earlier this year. Ram has yet to release the date of the event.

Production of the 2021 Ram 1500 will begin on Monday, August 31st, 2020 according to our sources. The TRX will start official production in September and should be hitting dealer showrooms around mid-November.
