Ram Launches Midsize 1200 Chassis Cab In Mexico
Expands Lineup, And Debuts With A New Turbo Motor
Ram continues to strengthen its foothold in the Mexican marketplace by introducing the all-new 2026 Ram 1200 Tradesman Chassis Cab — the brand’s first-ever midsize cab chassis offering in the region. Built in China and imported for the Mexican market, this new configuration is designed to appeal to commercial operators, builders, and fleets that need a tough, adaptable platform for their business needs.

At the heart of the new 1200 lies a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine, replacing last year’s naturally aspirated 2.4-liter unit. The new powerplant produces an impressive 217 horsepower (162 kW) and 288 lb.-ft. (390 Nm) of torque — a noticeable increase of 17 horsepower and 62 lb.-ft. over the previous generation. Customers can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission or a refined 8-speed automatic.
That extra torque makes itself known the moment you press the accelerator — especially when loaded or towing. With a payload capacity of up to 1,200 kilograms (2,645 pounds) and a towing capability of up to 3,000 kilograms (6,613 pounds), the 1200 Chassis Cab can confidently handle daily work duties. Ram says the new engine also delivers a 10% improvement in fuel efficiency, further enhancing its practicality for business users.
Offered exclusively in the no-nonsense Tradesman trim, the Chassis Cab is available in a 4×2 configuration and in either White or Gray. Priced from $449,900 MXN (approximately $25,000 USD), it represents an affordable and capable entry into Ram’s growing midsize truck family.

With its combination of higher power, improved efficiency, and the ability to accommodate custom bodies for specialized work — from delivery vans to flatbeds — the new Ram 1200 Tradesman Chassis Cab is a strategic move. It positions Ram directly between the Nissan NP300, effectively bridging the gap between refinement and rugged functionality.
Ram is making it clear that it’s serious about winning over loyal small-truck buyers in Mexico. The 2026 Ram 1200 Chassis Cab isn’t just an addition to the lineup — it’s a statement that the brand is ready to dominate both ends of the midsize spectrum.
