Mopar Teases New Crate Engine Before SEMA Debut:

Teaser Video Builds Excitement Before SEMA Launch...

For the past couple of years, Mopar has released its latest and greatest crate engines at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Well it doesn’t seem like the tradition is going to stop and Mopar has something “BIG” up their sleeves!

Last year, the Mopar brand is unleashed a new Mopar 6.2-liter supercharged Crate HEMI® Engine Kit — nicknamed the “Hellcrate” — that injected 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque under the hood of any vehicle you wanted. The Mopar “Hellcrate” HEMI Engine kit provided relatively simple “plug and play” with the 6.2-liter supercharged Crate HEMI Engine assembly. The Mopar “Hellcrate” HEMI Engine Kit married modern 707 horsepower with authentic, factory-backed quality.

Two years ago, Mopar debuted the 345 Crate HEMI Engine Kit for the 5.7-liter engine and Mopar 392 Crate HEMI Engine Kit for the 6.4-liter HEMI. These engines could be paired with model year 1975 and earlier vehicles, enabling owners to inject modern HEMI power into muscle-car era machines such as the Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Plymouth ‘Cuda and many other makes and models.

This morning Mopar, rolled out a teaser video on their Facebook page saying “SOMETHING BIG IS COMING!
On October 30, 2018, all will be revealed. Be sure to check www.cratehemi.com for more details on our next game changer.”

The video showcases what looks like cat paw prints a blaze with fire, trampled by elephant foot prints. For those who aren’t familiar with Mopar history, the original 7.0-liter 426 HEMI V-8 was nicknamed “The Elephant”. Could this mean we will see a HELLCAT engine with a 426 cubic-inch displacement rather than it’s 376 cubic-inch displacement? The only thing is there is no supercharge whine… guess we will have to wait till next week!

UPDATE: Friday morning October, 26th, Mopar released another teaser video of the upcoming crate motor announcement. Hint: Note more elephants…
