Jeep® Europe has announced that it will be bringing its Night Eagle package to its Jeep Renegade and Compass models in the United Kingdom. The packages are similar to the dark-themed Altitude models, here in the North American market. However, they feature some interesting powertrain choices.
It continues the growth of the Jeep® brand’s blackened themes reaching across the globe. You might remember that the brand just announced that it was bringing the darkened theme to its new S-Limited packages for the Middle East market. So let’s take a look at the new Night Eagle packages for both the Renegade and the Compass for the United Kingdom.
Jeep Renegade Night Eagle:
The Jeep Renegade Night Eagle takes the sporty style of Jeep’s smallest SUV and enhances it with a more menacing look. Gloss Black grille surrounds, exterior badging, tinted privacy glass, 18-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels, and dedicated Night Eagle emblem, set the exterior apart from the rest of the Renegade lineup. Inside, the Night Eagle continues with the dark theme with black upholstery and Gloss Black accents on the steering wheel, shifter surround, and stereo speaker bezels.
Based on the Renegade Longitude (Latitude here in North America), the Night Eagle package comes with the much loved 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment screen with navigation. Of course, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Dual-zone climate control and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) are also standard amenities. The Night Eagle is available in five different exterior colors, Carbon Black, Granite Crystal, Sting-Gray, Alpine White, and Colorado Red.
Under the hood, the Renegade Night Eagle is available with a choice of two gasoline and one diesel engine offerings. The gasoline-powered 1.0-liter turbocharged inline-three-cylinder engine and the 1.6-liter Multijet II turbodiesel four-cylinder engine both produce 120 horsepower and are both mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The gasoline-powered 1.3-liter turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine that is familiar to North American buyers has an output of 150 horsepower (29 horsepower less than the North American version) and is paired to a 6-speed Fiat C635 DDCT dual-clutch transmission.
Jeep Compass Night Eagle:
Just like the Renegade Night Eagle, the Compass Night Eagle is based on the Compass Longitude trim. The Compass Night Eagle features a Gloss Black grille, fog light surround, window surrounds, black exterior badges, and a unique set of 18-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels, to give the vehicle an aggressive stance. Of course, dedicated Night Eagle badging cements its identity.
Inside, the Night Eagle is designed for style and comfort with techno leather and premium cloth seats, while the cabin is adorned with Gloss Black accents. The 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment screen with navigation that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also comes standard on Compass Night Eagle.
The Compass Night Eagle gets three different powertrains with the availability of two diesel engines and one gasoline option. The 1.4-liter FIRE Multiair turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine makes 140 horsepower is the standard engine choice, while the 120 horsepower 1.6-liter Multijet II turbodiesel four-cylinder engine is optional on front-wheel-drive models. Both are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. For those looking for 4×4 capability, the Compass Night Eagle only has one available engine choice, the 140 horsepower 2.0-liter Multijet II turbodiesel four-cylinder engine which is backed with the ZF-source 9-speed automatic.
Five colors are available on Compass Night Eagle, Colorado Red, Hydro Blue, Magnesio Grey, Minimal Grey, Brilliant Black, or Vocal White. All five colors can be optioned with a blacked painted roof.
