Ram has finally said the quiet part out loud. After years of speculation, the brand’s long-awaited return to the midsize pickup segment will come wearing one of the most recognizable truck names in Mopar history: Dakota. First 1971 Plymouth HEMI® ‘Cuda Convertible Up For Grabs
Few vehicles in Mopar history carry the same weight, mystique, and outright presence as a 1971 Plymouth HEMI® ’Cuda Convertible. And in January, one of the most significant examples of them all will cross the auction block at Mecum Kissimmee 2026. Finished in Sno-White (GW3) exterior paint and known since new as “The White Elephant,” this car is the first of just 12 HEMI ’Cuda Convertibles produced for the 1971 model year, which also marked the final year of ’Cuda convertible production altogether.
