About a month ago, we told you about how Amazon and the Alfa Romeo brand were teaming up to offer test drives of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio to potential buyers in the United Kingdom. This is a service where the person interested in test driving the vehicle but doesn’t have time to visit a dealer, can schedule a test drive with Amazon and the vehicle would be brought to you.
At the beginning of this month, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) CEO, Mike Manley announced he had made a few upper management changes at the company. One of those changes, was hiring Mark Stewart as COO of North American region. Before joining FCA, Stewart was the Vice President of Operations for Amazon.
Well, the Amazon and FCA connection continues as the companies has announced the Mopar will be selling some of their parts and accessories on Amazon for Italian customers.
Mopar, the brand dedicated to service, spare parts and customer care for FCA vehicles, is continuing its evolution towards maximum customer satisfaction and excellence in logistics. After having recently announced the conversion of the time-honored Fiat plant in Rivalta (TO) into an innovative warehouse, Mopar will be joining the eCommerce world on Monday with the goal of satisfying customers by offering them the convenience of purchasing online.
The innovative service is developed on the Amazon Marketplace platform and will provide answers to the needs of an increasingly technological and digitized customers and follow growing global demand. Over the past twelve months, Mopar has supplied over 47,000 tons of spare parts and accessories to support over 7,000 dealers and workshops in the EMEA Region alone. The new sales channel directly targets end users and will initially feature an assortment of over 1300 DIY-oriented items. All customers will be able to find products compatible with their car quickly and safely using the Amazon My Garage application.
Mopar will be the first Automaker in Italy to sell its products on the Amazon marketplace. “This is just first step in a digital transformation that will lead up to the opening of an actual Mopar online store in 2019”, declared Santo Ficili, Head of Mopar EMEA. “It is the natural evolution for a brand which has always anticipated market trends to better satisfy every customer. Not by chance, over the past eighty years, Mopar has become synonymous with total assistance and authentic performance for owners and enthusiasts worldwide.”
