LED Lighting Available On 2019 Ram Heavy Duty Tradesman?

Spy Photos, Show Us There Might Be A New Option For Heavy Duty Owners...

On Tuesday, we showed you four different 2019 Ram Heavy Duty models without any camouflage what so ever. One of those trucks was a 2019 Ram 3500 Tradesman Crew Cab Short Box 4×4. The Flame Red 2019 Ram 3500 has a pretty interesting story to tell in this series of photos.

We have showed you several minimal camouflaged Ram Heavy Duty models currently testing around Metro Detroit. Those particular models have all been equipped with halogen headlamps and tail lights. This completely naked production-spec model is equipped with the upgraded LED headlamps and tail lamps that are optional on the Big Horn trim level.

Now the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman models do not have an option for the Premium LED Lighting Group as the Big Horn package does. So why is a Heavy Duty Tradesman wearing LEDs on a base model?

We believe that the LED headlamps and tail lights will be part of a Max-Tow or Heavy Duty towing group. The reason being is that the tail light housing, like its smaller brother the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty will have the Blind-Spot Monitoring (BSM) as it smaller brother.

BSM uses dual ultra-wideband radar sensors to aid the driver when changing lanes or if being passed by or passing unseen vehicles. The system notifies the driver of vehicle(s) in their blind spot via illuminated icons on the side-view mirror. BSM also includes easy-to-use trailer coverage, which is a perfect reason to have it part of a towing package.

Also note, that this 2019 Ram 3500 does not have a complete LED exterior lighting package as the fog lights are the same halogen ones shown on other halogen equipped 2019 Ram Heavy Duty models as well as the 2019 Ram 1500 models equipped with halogen headlamps.

This shows us that the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty models will have some unique packages compared to the Ram 1500. We will find out at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, in January.
